Patents Assigned to Premier Dies Corporation
  • Patent number: 8858211
Abstract: A coating die that includes a removable manifold section with each side of the manifold section defining a manifold, a land, and an outlet or lip. The two manifolds, lands and outlets may be the same or different, respectively. The manifold section is removably connected to at least one die body and can be removed from the die body to switch between the two sides of the manifold section. The coating die is designed and configured for web or substrate coating, either on-roll (supported web) coating or off-roll (tension web) coating.

  • Publication number: 20120088006
Abstract: A coating die having a shut-off bar positioned to stop the flow of coating material within the flow channel of the die when the shut-off bar is in the closed position. In the closed position, the shut-off bar extends across the material flow channel, blocking flow of coating material therethrough. The shut-off bar moves essentially orthogonal to the direction of material flow. In some embodiments, the flow channel includes a shoulder against which the shut-off bar physically seals, the seal being essentially transverse or orthogonal to the direction of the material flow channel. Coating dies having a shut-off bar are particularly suited for patch coating applications.

  • Publication number: 20110037192
Abstract: An extrusion die or extruder having a flexible lip that is moveable by a geared mechanism. A shaft is operably connected to at least one gear, which in turn is operably connected to a movable lip of the extruder. Rotation of the shaft results in movement of the extruder lip.
