Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a method for sorting items transported along a conveyance direction on an item carrier of a sorting system, the item carrier comprising a charging zone, a first detection zone, an item orientation-changing zone, a second detection zone and a sorting zone, the method comprising sequentially: loading the items on the item carrier in the charging zone; capturing a first image of the items in the first detection zone; changing an orientation of the items in the item orientation-changing zone, located downstream of the first detection zone; capturing a second image of the items in the second detection zone, located downstream of the first detection zone; identifying nonstandard items amongst the items from information derived from the first and second images; and isolating the identified nonstandard items in the sorting zone. It also concerns a corresponding sorting system.

Abstract: The present application relates to compositions comprising 4-chloroindole-3-acetic acid (4Cl-IAA) or an analogue thereof, or a combination of the latter, in the form of a potassium salt, a sodium salt or an amine salt. For example, such compositions can be used used in methods for selectively causing damage or mortality to weed.

Abstract: A robotic palletizer system and method include selectively operating a palletizing robot between at least a pregrouping state, in which the palletizing robot groups to-be-grouped items at a pregrouping station, and a principal grouping state, in which the palletizing robot groups to-be-grouped items at a principal grouping station. The system and method further include selectively operating a load securing machine between a securing state, in which the load securing machine at least partially secures to be grouped items grouped at the principal grouping station, and a non-operational state. The palletizing robot can be operated in the pregrouping state during at least a portion of a time interval during which the load securing machine is operating in the securing state to secure the to-be-grouped items grouped at the principal grouping station.

Abstract: A particulate material spreader for radially projecting granular material. The particulate material spreader comprises a hopper, a set of open wheels and a spreading assembly at least partially extending between the hopper and the set of open wheels. The spreading assembly is configured to radially project the particulate material through at least one wheel of the set of open wheels. The spreading assembly comprises a wheel axle extending between the open wheels and rotating along with the open wheels when the particulate material spreader is moved over a surface; a distribution shaft operatively connected to the wheel axle to rotate along therewith; and a distribution plate. The distribution plate is mounted to the distribution shaft, receives the particulate material from the hopper and radially projects the particulate material substantially through at least one wheel of the set of open wheels.

Abstract: A blending scale for dosing and blending two products. The blending scale includes an auxiliary product dosing device, and an auxiliary product dispenser receiving the auxiliary product from the auxiliary product dosing device and releasing the auxiliary product within a dynamic unconstrained stream of the main product to produce and maximize a blend of the auxiliary and main products. A blend collector measures a quantity of the blend of the auxiliary and main products. A controller controls release of the auxiliary product in a synchronized manner with the dynamic unconstrained stream of the main product, based on the defined quantity of the auxiliary product measured by the auxiliary product dosing device. The dynamic stream of the main product is terminated once a targeted quantity of the blend measured by the blend collector is obtained. A method for accurately dosing and homogeneously blending two products is also disclosed.
