Abstract: A device used for applying an antiseptic preparation to a patient outside of a sterile environment. In one embodiment, a loose-fitting bag is provided which encloses a patient appendage. In another embodiment, a loose-fitting bag is provided which encloses all or part of the lower half of a patient. A textured surface is provided on the interior surface of the bag. The bag includes one or more removable drainage pouches attached to resealable lower ports. The bag further includes side closures which can be ruptured to allow access to the disinfected appendage or appendages. After disinfection, the antiseptic preparation is drained and sealed in the drainage pouches. The drainage pouches are then removed and discarded.
Abstract: A medial isolette is provided. A flexible enclosure and a collapsible wire-frame structure are provided which supply an economical and easily assembled isolation chamber. A flexible drape is provided to further isolate the patient and effectively control a negative pressure environment within the isolette. Access ports with integrated or removable gloves are provided to access the patient when the isolette is in use. A component access panel is provided for ducted connection of patient gas circuits and leads and source of negative pressure.
Abstract: An isolette comprising an array of support structures is provided, covered by sheeting, and a drape. The arrays provide vertical or peripheral wire frame supports which are easily assembled and attached to the flexible sheeting. Access ports allow patient access. A component access panel is provided. The drape includes an optional sealing ring held in position by a strap or medical tape. The access ports can include iris diaphragms, covering flaps, integrated gloves, and removable gloves.
