  • Patent number: 6357894
Abstract: A lighting fixture utilizing a housing surrounding a fluorescent light source. The housing has an aperture defining an edge portion for determining the cutoff angle of light emanating from the source. A first upper reflector is formed on the inner surface of the housing directing light from the source at angles ranging between the cutoff angle and angles less than the cutoff angle. The second reflector, located adjacent first reflector in the housing between the housing aperture and the first reflector, directs light from the source ranging between a selected angle, which is less than the cutoff angle, and at angles less than the selected angle. The result is a lighting fixture which possesses an optical delay in the activation in the second reflector as one approaches the optical axis from a peripheral position.

  • Patent number: 4896079
Abstract: A control mechanism for use with a fluorescent lighting unit having at least first and second lamps utilizing a line switch. The mechanism includes an AC toggle which alternately interrupts and connects electrical power from a source to one of the first and second lamps, only. The toggle is responsive to the successive opening and closing of the line switch. A reset feature overrides the means for alternately interrupting and connecting power source to one of the pair of lamps by connecting power from the source to the second lamp. The reset feature is also responsive to the operation of the line switch.

  • Patent number: 4843366
Abstract: A wall box mounted voltage controller used in conjunction with a remotely located dimmer module for controlling multiple loads. The controller utilizes a printed circuit board structure and a multiplicity of control operators extendable from the printed circuit board structure. Each operator is linked to a potentiometer which in turn generates a electrical signal to control the intensity of the load via the dimmer module. High and low trim mechanisms for each signal are supported to the printed circuit board structure and are readily available for mechanical adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4803586
Abstract: A wall box mounted remotely operated voltage module utilizing a low voltage DC control signal which is remotely generated. A power semi conductor device is triggered to deliver a predetermined amount of power from the source of AC electrical power to a load. The AC electrical power is rectified and transformed to produce a low voltage rectified DC signal. A comparator generates a triggering signal to the power semi conductor utilizing the low voltage rectified DC signal and remotely generated low voltage DC control signal as imputs. The comparator also serves as a compensator for changes in the voltage of the AC electrical power from the source.

  • Patent number: 4772825
Abstract: A panel controlling multiple lighting intensities of a multiplicity of lights in conjunction with a remote lighting dimmer module which utilizes operators mechanically movable to operate potentiometers. Each potentiometer is capable of setting an intensity level of a particular light of the multiplicity of lights. A display is also employed which indicates a lighting level of each of the multiplicity of lights associated with each operator and corresponding potentiometer. The operators and display are supported by a chassis which is mountable in an electrical wall box. Information may be stored which defines a lighting scene in terms of an intensity level of each light of the multiplicity of lights which is set by the operators in the chassis. The intensity level information may be retrieved and transported to a dimmer module which sets the intensity level in each light. One scene may be set into the multiplicity of lights while another scene may be previewed on the display on the chassis.
