Abstract: In a sensor device, a plurality of light guides having a respective first end and a respective second end are arranged on a common carrier, with the first end of each light guide of the plurality of light guides at a respective defined position on the carrier. At each of the second ends of the light guides there is provided at least one sensor element which exhibits an optical behavior dependent on an analyte. The second ends are at defined perpendicular distances to the carrier. At least two of the second ends differ with respect to the defined perpendicular distances.

  • Patent number: 11105734
Abstract: A method and measurement system for calibrated measurement of at least one variable of a sample are based on an optical behaviour of at least one sensor substance which depends on the at least one variable. The at least one sensor substance is brought into contact with the sample. At least one calibration area, associated with the at least one sensor substance, is defined. At least one image is recorded which captures at least one of the at least one sensor substance and at least one of the at least one calibration area. The value of the at least one variable of the sample is derived from the at least one image, based on image data associated with the at least one of the at least one sensor substance and on image data associated with the at least one of the at least one calibration area.

  • Patent number: 10281394
Abstract: An apparatus, a method and a system for the parallelized recording of at least one variable during a biological/chemical process are disclosed. A matrix, which has at least one container and which can be positioned on a measurement carrier, is provided to accommodate the liquid samples. A measuring unit, which comprises a controllable radiation source for electromagnetic radiation and at least one sensor for detecting electromagnetic radiation, is fixedly disposed in or on the measurement carrier. When at least one matrix with the containers is placed onto the measurement carrier, the respective measuring unit is assigned to the base of each container from the outside. During the measurement by the measuring unit, a movement device is used to move the measurement carrier with a defined radial movement about a fixed axis orthogonal to the gravitational force.

  • Publication number: 20140306125
Abstract: A method for determining at least one parameter related to a system is disclosed, wherein the at least one parameter depends on at least one relaxation time of the system. The system is excited by a first series of electromagnetic excitation pulses, exhibiting a first defined time gap between consecutive excitation pulses. The response of the system to the first series of excitation pulses is integrated uninterruptedly over time, thus generating a first response signal. Likewise, by uninterrupted integration over time of at least one second response of the system, a second response-signal is generated. The at least one parameter is determined taking into account the first response-signal and the at least one second response-signal.

  • Publication number: 20120291515
Abstract: A sensor unit is disclosed which includes a sensor and an information module. The sensor exhibits an optical behavior dependent on at least one variable of a sample. Sensor related information can be emitted by the information module as optical radiation. In embodiments the sensor related information includes calibration data for the sensor. The sensor related information may additionally include identification data for the sensor. In embodiments the information module measures at least one ambient parameter, and emits the measurement value in an optical signal. The measurement value is taken into account when determining at least one variable of a sample by means of the sensor unit. In embodiments the information module may also transmit status information of the sensor unit. Furthermore a method for determining a variable of a sample with a sensor unit and a measurement system is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6770220
Abstract: Luminescent microparticles and nanoparticles are provided for use either as internal standards for referencing fluorescent signals, or as markers for detecting biomolecules. Luminescence dyes are incorporated in inert form into solid materials such that they are protected from the influence of chemical and biological compounds in aqueous sample constituents. The photophysical characteristics of the dyes (spectral characteristics, luminescence quantum efficiency, luminescence fading time and polarization) remain unaffected. The surface of the nanoparticles and microparticles can be provided with reactive surfaces in order to enable covalent coupling of biochemicals or to eliminate aggregation.

  • Patent number: 6602716
Abstract: A method and device for fluorimetric determination of a biological, chemical or physical parameter of a sample utilize at least two different luminescent materials, the first of which is sensitive to the parameter, at least with respect to luminescence intensity, and the second of which is insensitive to the parameter, at least with respect to luminescence intensity and decay time. The luminescent materials have different decay times. The time- or phase behaviour of the resulting luminescence response is used to form a reference value for determination of a parameter.
