Abstract: A process for the continuous halogenation of elastomers, in which a halogenating agent is introduced into a solution of an unsaturated elastomer in an organic solvent, is disclosed. The process is characterized in that it consists of mixing the halogenating agent in a continuous stream of the elastomer solution, thereby dissolving the halogenating agent which reacts with the elastomer in the same continuous stream, and is further characterized by keeping the continuous stream of the elastomer solution in turbulent motion without flow inversion phenomena during the course of the reaction between the halogenating agent and the elastomer.
