    Abstract: A hydraulic pump includes a pump housing block, a rotary drive shaft and plural pumping assemblies extending radially from the rotary drive shaft. Each pumping assembly includes a reciprocating piston, a cylinder lining, and a piston return spring mounted between the piston and the lining. The cylinder linings are inserted into the pump block from the outside and a detachable latching device secures the linings to the block. The cylinder lining, the piston and the piston return spring can be easily removed and replaced after the latching device, for instance a locking ring, has been removed.

    Abstract: An independent, portable hydraulic unit (80) for powering a hydraulic tool (C), and a method for operating the tool (c) with the aid of the unit. The unit includes a hydraulic circuit (1) having a pump (19) and a power source (17) and a pump motor (18). The pump (19) is intended to pressurize the tool (C) to a first pressure level (P2). The hydraulic circuit charges the hydraulic accumulator (22) to a maximum second pressure level (P1) which is at most equal to the first pressure level (P2). A check valve (31) isolates the hydraulic accumulator (22) from the pump pressure when this pressure exceeds the second pressure level (P1). A closure valve (12) and check valve (21) are provided for enabling the charged accumulator (22) to be connected to the tool upon activation of the unit so as to power the tool. A microprocessor (70) causes the pump (19) to charge the accumulator to the second pressure level while the tool is relieved of pressure, after emptying the accumulator (22).

The cam follower (7) projects outwardly of and is mounted for movement along a U-shaped or V-shaped slot (10) which is arranged in an associated movement transmitting means or jaw adjacent the cam and the legs of which extend obliquely away from the cam (3) and the base-part of which is at least partially covered by the cam when the jaws are in a position between the open position and the closed position. The cam surface (6) is arcuate and smooth or toothed.

The piston is journalled in a hollow spindle and is driven reciprocatingly at a pre-determined length of stroke by means of a drive mechanism. The tool further has a distance setting means, including an external screw thread on the spindle and a nut surrounding the spindle and engaging the screw thread thereof, for continuous setting of the distance between the crimping device, when the piston is located in its retracted position, and the localizing device.

    Abstract: A crimping tool includes at least three crimping jaws guided for displacement in a tool body. The jaws present first, second and third straight jaw surfaces, wherewith the first jaw surfaces together define a crimping opening. The third jaw surfaces abut against and are movable along a respective straight guide surface formed in the tool body. These guide surfaces or extensions thereof define, when projected onto a plane extending at right angles to all guide surfaces, a polygon having the same number of sides as there are jaws present. The first, second and third jaw surfaces of each jaw or their extensions define a triangle, when projected onto said plane.

    Abstract: A tool for stripping surface layers from elongate objects includes an elongate frame, a jaw means which extends along the frame and which is pivotally mounted in the frame and a leg which also extends along the frame and which is pivotally mounted in the frame. When the leg is pivoted towards the frame, the leg is arranged to swing the jaw means towards the frame, via a camming arrangement, against the action of a restoring means. At one end of the tool, the frame and the jaw means have mutually facing clamping surfaces, and a stripping knife means which is arranged between the frame and the jaw means for movement therealong from a starting position adjacent the clamping surfaces. The stripping knife means includes two carriers for a respective one of two stripping knives which are arranged to be brought together by means of the jaw means and which extend transversely relative to the frame.
