Abstract: A method (100) and system (300) for determining an identity and a position of at least one electronic label in a retail environment is provided. The system comprising a camera (310) arranged to capture at least one image of the electronic label and wherein the camera is arranged to transmit a control signal. The system further comprises an electronic label (320) adapted to receive the control signal and adapted to change its optical output in response to said control signal, and the electronic label is arranged in the field of view of the camera. Further, the system comprises a control unit (330) adapted to communicate with the camera (310) and configured to detect an identifier of the electronic label (320) by analyzing the optical output in the image and configured to determine position of the electronic label based on the position of the electronic label in the image.

Abstract: A support arrangement within a retail environment. The arrangement includes a unit that includes a casing with a flat rear side, at least three recesses arranged in a pattern are formed in the rear side. The recesses are shaped such that a shoulder extends around at least a section of the recess in the rear side. The arrangement includes a support device including a flat support body to be secured to a wall and a shelf or a support structure. The support device includes a corresponding number of attachment protrusions that have shape and dimension corresponding to the recesses and each including a support surface to bear against the shoulder of the recesses to maintain the unit attached. The arrangement includes a releasable locking device arranged to maintain the support surfaces in contact with the shoulders in the recesses. The locking device has a male/female configuration.

The electronic shelf label includes: a casing including at least one side surface, a front side and a back side; an information display area arranged in the front side; and at least two curved recesses arranged at a distance from each other in the at least one side surface, the at least two recesses are intended for attachment of an external information display sign to the electronic shelf label. Abstract: A method and system for stitching together a first image and a second image of a retail environment are provided. The position of an electronic label is detected in a first and a second set of reference images based on changes of optical output of the electronic label. The position of the electronic label in a first and a second image to be stitched together is then determined based on the determined position of the electronic label in the reference images.

Abstract: A method is applied in a positioning Electronic Shelf Label, ESL, system, wherein each ESL of a set of ESLs is being associated with a target position datum, and wherein each item positioned in a sales area is associated with an ESL. The method includes receiving checklist data indicating at least one sales area item; updating a current set of target position data; receiving a user terminal position datum; monitoring the user terminal position datum; and if a set of triggering criteria is met triggering an alert. Checklist data may be derived from a user terminal GUI, and be received in the user terminal, or be received in the ESL control unit from the user terminal or from another available system interface. Further, a system, a user terminal, an ESL, a computer program and a computer program product is provided. Embodiments enable improved increased efficiency for customers or in-store staff.

Abstract: A system and method for estimating a position of an electronic label in an area are provided. A plurality of devices is distributed over the area. Information is obtained about signal strengths recorded at the respective devices when attempting to receive a wireless signal transmitted by the electronic label. Weights are formed for positions associated with the devices, based on the signal strengths recorded at the corresponding devices. The position of the electronic label is estimated as a weighted average including the positions, wherein the positions are weighted by the weights. In some embodiments, information is instead obtained about signal strengths recorded at the electronic label when attempting to receive wireless signals transmitted by the respective devices. The present method may for example be employed to estimate a position of a product in a retail store.

Abstract: Products are arranged at positions along a fixture. Electronic labels associated with the products are arranged such that a product position for a product is obtainable once a position of the label is known. A camera is arranged to capture images of the fixture. A method includes controlling a label to change optical output; receiving an image containing the label and captured after the change of optical output has been initiated; detecting a position of the label in the image based on a characteristic associated with the change; and determining a position for the product associated with the label in an image. The determined position may be employed to determine when to restock a product. Further, a method for determining positions of labels in images is provided, as well a corresponding system and computer program product. The labels are controlled to include changing temporal patterns.

Abstract: An electronic shelf label (ESL) is provided. The ESL includes a printed circuit board, PCB, a photo sensor sensitive to infra-red, IR, radiation and arranged at the PCB, an outer cover in which a window is arranged to admit light and IR radiation towards the photo sensor. The ESL further includes a filter arranged in front of the photo sensor and separate from the window, the filter being adapted to admit IR radiation and filter out light within the visible wavelength range. Further, the ESL includes index matching material transparent to IR radiation and coated on the PCB such that it covers the photo sensor and provides direct or indirect physical contact between the photo sensor and the filter. Such enables use of a photo sensor which is not pre-coated with index matching material, which reduces manufacturing costs.

The system comprising displaying means in the electronic sign configured to present a code on the electronic sign, where the code is associated with the electronic sign. Reading means in a mobile terminal is configured to read the code and download user interaction content to the mobile terminal using the code. Feedback means in the mobile terminal is configured to receive a feedback from the customer and transmit the feedback to the server, the feedback being related to the user interaction content and the product, the product group, the product category, the brand, the store or the information.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and a method in a system that makes it possible for a service provider to provide product related information services to a mobile terminal in a store. The system comprises reading means in the mobile terminal configured to read a unique tag identity from an identity tag in an electronic shelf label, wherein the unique tag identity is different from a product id. Transmitting means in the mobile terminal is configured to transmit the unique tag identity from the mobile terminal to a tag identity server. Finding means in the tag identity server is configured to find in the tag identity server a meta data associated with the unique tag identity. In the tag identity server transmitting means is configured to transmit the meta data from the tag identity server to the mobile terminal. Displaying means in the mobile terminal configured to display the product related information services using the meta data.

Abstract: An ESL and ESL holder combination includes a locking mechanism for releasably securing the ESL to the ESL holder and an ESL provided with at least one gripping means for cooperative engagement with the ESL holder. A protruding, spring loaded locking element is arranged on the ESL for cooperative engagement with the shelf edge rail. The ESL holder is attachable to the edge of a shelf, the ESL holder being provided with one or more receiving means such as slots for receiving the gripping means and the locking element in cooperative engagement. The spring loaded locking element arranged adjacent to the gripping means and positioned on the ESL such that the spring loaded locking element cannot enter the receiving means on the ESL holder during insertion of the gripping means into the receiving means, and such that it enters the receiving means by spring action when the gripping means is brought into a hooked position, in the receiving means.

Abstract: An electronic label wirelessly connected to an information updating system having a server. The electronic label includes a wireless communication interface to receive information from the server to be displayed on a display, a means for label processing connected to the communication interface, a means for updating the display connected to the means for label processing, and at least one dot matrix display to display a dot matrix image, where the dot matrix display is connected to the means for updating the display. The communication interface receives the information to be displayed from the information updating system. The label includes a layout script such that the means for label processing generates the dot matrix image from the received information using the layout script.

Abstract: An electronic label wirelessly connected to a product information updating system. The electronic label includes a wireless communication interface to receive information from a server to be displayed on a display, a means for processing connected to the communication interface, a means for updating the display connected to the means for processing, and at least one dot matrix display to display a dot matrix image, where the dot matrix display is connected to the means for updating the display. The communication interface receives the information to be displayed from the product information updating system. At least a part of the dot matrix display displays a first barcode that can be scanned by a barcode scanner, where the first barcode identifies the electronic label or a product linked to the electronic label.
