Abstract: An attachment member is provided for suspending an information carrier at the outer end of a unit-packaging holder. The attachment member includes a flexible bracket (8) having a pin member (9, 11) formed in both ends thereof for permanently fixing in a recess (6) provided for this purpose in the information carrier (1). The attachment member includes a bulge (12) provided on the inside of the bracket, the cross-sectional size of the bulge being adapted to the spacing between the legs of the holder in order to permit the bracket and information carrier, in a first receiving position, to hang swing freely from the holder and, in a second receiving position, releasably fix the attachment member and the information carrier with the holder legs in clamping connection with the bulge and in axial alignment with the holder.
Abstract: The present invention concerns a housing for a price-marking device comprising a thin LCD (30) and a printed circuit board (20) with control electronics and power supply, e.g. a solar cell. The thin LCD (30) is connected to the underlying printed circuit board (30) by a connection device containing conductive rubber areas. Such a device is referred to as a zebra contact strip, the zebra contact strip (15) being arranged between the LCD (30) and the printed circuit board by means of longitudinal parallel enclosing edges (12a, 12b) on the extruded housing (10) preferably made of plastic material and being compressed in a direction across the conducting rubber areas by the action of the longitudinal parallel enclosing edges (12a, 12b) which upon extrudation have been given an inward directed biasing force.
Abstract: A method is provided for displaying prices of articles on display units adjacent to the location of the articles at a point of sale. The method is useful in operating a number of detached display units, which reproduce information, which is changeable by a wireless communication from a central computer or a portable terminal. A problem related to information systems of this type consists in easily and conveniently providing for assigning an identification code corresponding to a particular article to a display unit. According to the method described herein, this is achieved by a control unit, integrated within the display unit, and being able to be set by an external switch or signal, the control unit in such set state being arranged to receive and to store an identification code transmitted from the portable terminal.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a device for increasing the coverage in a shop data system for each individual information module (B1-B10), which has a low output power for its message acknowledgement at the reception of information, ensuring that a signal of acknowledgement indicating reception of information reaches a system computer. An information device, for instance a shelf-edge module (B5), which has received a correctly decoded information intended for this particular module, emits a signal of acknowledgement, which then is repeated by said other modules (B1-B4, B6-B10), which also have decoded said message finding that it was not intended for them.
