  • Patent number: 9459199
Abstract: A humidity sensor and filter assembly are housed within a cylindrical barrel that is positioned in a process gas stream such as combustion flue gas. A portion of sample flue gas is conducted through the barrel and the filter assembly past the sensor located inside the filter so that accurate humidity measurements can be taken. Unwanted flue gas particulate matter accumulated on the outside surface of the filter is ejected by pulsed purge gas admitted into the filter to reverse the flow through the filter. In one embodiment a heat exchange chamber preheats the purge gas. In another embodiment the pulsed purge is supplied by a reciprocal piston contiguous with the internal volume of the filter that reverses the flow through the filter using the process gas.

  • Patent number: 8697801
Abstract: A plastic pallet having a fire retardant. The fire retardant is prepared in an FR masterbatch before mixing with HDPE to form the pallet. In one embodiment, the FR masterbatch includes a brominated fire retardant, a hydrated mineral, antimony trioxide and a carrier resin. In some embodiments, the brominated fire retardant is a non-blooming brominated fire retardant such as poly pentabromobenzyl acrylate or ethylenebistetrabromophthalamide. The hydrated mineral advantageously enhances both the vapor phase and condensed phase fire retardant properties of the final product and may be magnesium hydroxide. In other embodiments, melamine pyrophosphate or a blend of melamine pyrophosphate and polyhydric compound may be substituted for the hydrated mineral or used as the sole fire retardant. The polyhydric compound may be bis-pentaerythritol phosphate alcohol. A method of manufacturing a plastic pallet is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8369186
Abstract: Methods and systems of extending battery life of remote battery-operated timekeeping devices by minimizing the number of required synchronizations per unit of time needed to maintain a predetermined accuracy of the devices. The number of synchronizations are minimized by first calculating a time error rate between the remote timekeeping device and a master device over a sample period. Then, a synchronization is delayed and the remote timekeeping device is compensated based on the time error rate. The compensation delays the need for a synchronization yet maintains the predetermined accuracy of the remote timekeeping device. In some embodiments, the remote timekeeping device is compensated and multiple synchronizations are delayed before a new synchronization is necessary to maintain the predetermined accuracy.
