Patents Assigned to Primo Wind, Inc.
  • Patent number: 10288035
Abstract: A blade for a wind turbine can include an elongated and curved sheet having a curved root, a curved tip, a leading edge, and a trailing edge. The root and the tip can be rotated relative to each other such that the blade is twisted along its length. The root can include an edge having curved projections, the curved projections being distributed along a curvature of the root. A wind turbine can include a mounting element and a plurality of turbine blades. Each turbine blade can be attached to the mounting element closer to the trailing edge than to the leading edge such that an intersection of the leading edge and the root projects upstream from the wind turbine. A wind turbine generator assembly for converting wind into electrical energy can include a wind turbine and a generator. In addition, a support structure can support the wind turbine and generator.

  • Patent number: 10233903
Abstract: A system for providing access to a wireless communication network can include a plurality of renewable energy structures. Each renewable energy structure can include an electricity generation assembly, a telescoping support pole positioned to support the electricity generation assembly, and a wireless communication device configured to relay wireless communication signals between a host signal source and a client device. The electricity generation assembly can include a wind turbine assembly and/or a solar power structure. The wireless communication device can include a cellular telephone signal repeater and/or wireless internet equipment. Each structure can include a display, such as an advertisement, one or more benches, and/or a container. Each structure can optionally include a water purification system, one or more cameras, one or more lights, and/or one or more motion or voice sensors for activating or deactivating various components of the system. Each structure may be permanently installed or mobile.

  • Patent number: 10060647
Abstract: An electrical energy generation system can include a housing, an electrical generator supported by the housing, a turbine operatively connected to the electrical generator, and a hollow frustum positioned in the housing and spaced apart from the turbine. The frustum can be configured to receive airflow via a lower opening and to direct the airflow toward the turbine with increased velocity. Another electrical energy generation system can include an electrical generator, a turbine operatively connected to the electrical generator, and an enclosed passageway configured to increase a speed of an airflow from an artificial source toward the turbine. The enclosed passageway can be positioned to support the turbine. The systems can include one or more baffle elements to straighten the airflow along a direction aligned with a rotational axis of the turbine. Electrical energy generation systems harvest waste or exhaust air from rooftop vent or fan assemblies.
