Abstract: A combination tablet and armrest assembly for a seating unit. The seating unit includes a seat portion and a back, and the combination tablet and armrest assembly includes a support member which is movable between an operative position toward the front of the seat portion, and an inoperative position toward the rear of the seat portion. The support member is preferably mounted for pivoting movement to a base member secured to the underside of the seat portion. A combination tablet/armrest member is mounted to the support member. The tablet/armrest member includes a stationary section mounted to the support member, and a pivotable section interconnected with the stationary section via a hinge. The sections of the tablet/armrest member are adapted to be folded together when the support member is in its inoperative rearward position, to function as an armrest.

Abstract: An extensible table comprises a foldable board and a pair of basis structures, at least one of which is mounted on wheels, the two basis structures rigidly support respective end portions of the foldable board and are displaceable between a first operative condition in which they are spaced apart from each other, with the foldable board fully extended, and a second operative condition in which they are adjacent to each other, with the foldable board folded.

Abstract: In a chair having a backrest which can be reclined backwardly against the action of spring means, the latter comprises a leaf spring having its central portion operatively connected to the base structure of the chair and its ends connected to two side arms which support the backrest.

Abstract: A folding chair is provided with three structures respectively defining the front legs, the rear legs and the seat which are reciprocally articulated around a common axis. The backrest of the chair forms part of a fourth structure separate from said three structures and articulated on one of them around the common axis. IN the condition of use of the chair, the backrest can be tilted backwardly against the action of a spring.

Abstract: A chair assembly consists of a seat, a back, one or more leg members and a mounting plate. The seat, back and leg members are removably mounted to the mounting plate, for allowing such components to be removed and replaced as desired. The back includes a mounting arm, the end of which is pivotably connected to the mounting plate. A spring is interposed between the mounting arm and the plate, for biasing the back to an upright position. Each leg member includes an upper mounting portion, mounted to the plate by threaded fasteners such as screws or the like. The plate includes an upper surface which engages a lower surface defined by the seat. Threaded fasteners are employed to mount the seat to the mounting plate. The major components of the chair are thus removably mounted to the mounting plate, for providing modular assembly and facilitating ease in replacing some or all of the components of the chair.

Abstract: A chair comprises a base structure, a seat mounted on the base structure for pivoting about a transverse axis, travel limiting means which define the position of maximum rearward pivoting and the position of maximum forward pivoting of the seat, and resilient means which bias the seat towards its position of maximum rearward pivoting. The travel limiting means enable at least one of the end-of-travel positions to be adjusted.

Abstract: A pivoting support for chairs, seats and the like comprises a main support member which is connected to the base structure of the chair and a seat support member which is pivotably connected to the main support member with the interposition of an auxiliary support member. The latter is articulated to the main support member about a first horizontal axis and to the seat support member about a second horizontal axis parallel to and in front of the first horizontal axis. First resilient means are interposed between the main support member and the seat support member for biassing the seat support member towards a position in which it is rotated upwardly relative to the auxiliary support element. Second resilient means are also interposed between the main support member and the auxiliary support member for biassing the auxiliary support member towards a position in which it is rotated upwardly relative to the main support member.
