  • Patent number: 5481807
Abstract: An archery bow sight assembly comprises a mounting plate adapted for attachment to an archery bow and having an aperture therethrough. A sight pin extends through the aperture and a locking collar on the sight pin is rotatable toward and away from a locking position where the locking collar abuts the mounting plate or structure connected thereto to lock the sight pin within the aperture. The locking collar has an outer edge with at least one notch. A tool is provided for rotating the locking collar and comprises an elongated body having at least one projection extending from the body. The projection is adapted to be received within the notch so that when the tool is directed over the locking collar with the projection received within the notch, the tool can be manually rotated to rotate the locking collar.

  • Patent number: 5390655
Abstract: An improvement is provided for a compound bow having upper and lower limbs, upper and lower draw pulleys eccentrically mounted respectively on axles mounted on free outer ends of the upper and lower limbs, and a cable system reeved about the pulleys. The improvement comprises each of the fixed ends of the cables being divided into two discreet end segments. The end segments having loops which attach to separate bosses on either side of the respective pulley. Preferably the bosses are provided on attachment brackets mounted on the pulley axle, one on each side of the pulley, with the bosses spaced apart from the axle so that the end segments can be removed from the bosses without removing the axle.

Abstract: An improvement is provided for a compound bow having upper and lower limbs, upper and lower draw pulleys mounted respectively on free outer ends of the upper and lower limbs, a cable system reeved about the pulleys, and a yoke assembly for mounting an end of the cable to the free outer end. The improvement comprises the yoke assembly having a body with two outer mounting fixtures and the cable mounted to the body. Two cable segments affix the limb free outer end on opposite sides of the pulley and to the mounting fixtures. An adjusting mechanism associated with each mounting fixture allows the tension in each cable segment to be separately adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5231970
Abstract: A bow limb construction (51) includes a bushing (101) for use in mounting an archery bow limb (54) to an archery bow riser (52). The bushing can include a cylinder (116) which is adapted to be received in an aperture (71) of the bow limb. The bushing can include a vertically disposed flange (118) which is adapted to be received in a slot (70) in the bow limb. The bushing includes a first hole which extends vertically through the bushing, the first hole being adapted to receive a fastener (140) for adjustably securing the bow limb to the bow riser. Preferably, the first hole comprises a bore having an elliptical cross section. A major axis of the first hole is adapted to be aligned with a longitudinal axis of the bow limb. A second hole (160) can extend transversely through the bushing and communicate with the first hole. A set screw (162) can be threaded into the second hole so that the set screw adjustably bears against the fastener to retain the fastener in an adjusted position in the first hole.

  • Patent number: 4791908
Abstract: A bowstring release mechanism is disclosed which is operable in two alternative modes to draw and release an archery bowstring. In both modes the bowstring is held by means of a latch member which is moved to a cocked position, the latch member being held in the cocked position by a sear. The bowstring is then drawn, and the latch member is released from its cocked position to release the bowstring. In one such mode, manual pressure is applied to the sear to release the latch member from its cocked position. In the other mode, manual pressure is applied to the sear during the cocking operation and then released to release the latch member from its cocked position. Structure is disclosed which enable the mechanism to be operable in either of such modes at the election of the archer.
