Patent number: 12275564Abstract: A wedge shaped container formed from a folded web of flexible material. The container comprises a base (1), a rear wall (2) connected to the base, and a pair of upstanding side walls decreasing in height from the rear wall to the opposite end of the base. Each side wall is formed of two side wall panels (4, 6) connected at an edge of the base and connected by a hinge joint. From a fold-flat configuration, folding of the rear wall (2) away from the base (1) causes the side wall panels (4, 6) to be folded inwardly into the erected configuration. The container may have an integral lid (8). The invention also extends to a method of making a blank using a sequence of cuts to create unsupported file regions.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2023Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: PROAMPAC HOLDINGS INC.Inventors: Quang Phung, Hui-Yi Wang

Patent number: 10232970Abstract: A device for selectively retaining a package opening in a gaping configuration and a package including the device applied to a package body. The device includes a circumferential strip with side seams formed as vertical or longitudinal hinges. One or more tabs extend in a first axial direction from an upper edge of the circumferential strip at the side seams. Each tab is coupled to the circumferential strip with a horizontal or transverse hinge. The tabs are pivotable about the horizontal or transverse hinges in opposite directions away from the opening axis to respective folded-out positions, which inhibits the device from folding at the side seams and retains a gaping open configuration of the device and package. The vertical hinges include thru cuts or line of perforations that go through the entire material thickness of the circumferential strip and the one or more tabs and extend for a majority of the full axial length of the device.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2016Date of Patent: March 19, 2019Assignee: ProAmpac Intermediate, Inc.Inventor: Vishaal Boehm Verma

Patent number: 9663271Abstract: One embodiment relates to a bistable hold open mechanism including first and second flexible flat, strip like members positioned relative to each other. The members include opposing first and second ends; an inner mating surface; and an opposing outer bonding surface. One or more pivot members and/or hinges is integrated into the second member separating it into a side seal portion and an operable portion, the side seal portion coupled to the operable portion. Embodiments include flexures which allow the pivot members or hinges to be biased in open or closed configurations. Applying a slight pressure to the members opens the mechanism. When the mechanism reaches a predetermined point, the pivot or hinges lock, maintaining an open configuration. Closing the mechanism only requires a slight pressure be applied to the external surface of the members, resulting in the pivot members or hinges unlocking and rotating towards a closed configuration.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2013Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: ProAmpac Intermediate, Inc.Inventor: Vishaal B.
