  • Publication number: 20120095370
Abstract: The invention relates to a intra lens (1) comprising a posterior surface and an anterior surface, said posterior surface having a curvature which is optimised for providing a minimal spherical aberration, wherein said curvature is optimized using the posterior chamber depth of an eye in which the IOL is to be inserted.

  • Patent number: 7923520
Abstract: The present invention relates to high refractive index monomers according to formula (I) and (co)polymers comprising such high refractive index monomers. The 5 (co)polymers are highly suitable for the manufacture of optical articles, in particular flexible optical articles, more in particular intraocular lenses.

  • Publication number: 20080312738
Abstract: Intraocular lens consisting of a centrally located lens part with supporting parts (haptics) on either side. According to the invention one supporting part is non-deformable and another supporting part, located approximately opposite said supporting part, is deformable. In this way it is achieved that when the ciliary cell contracts the reduction in the space therein is used for moving the centre of the lens part. By arranging the transition between distance and near part in a multifocal lens on said centre, switching from the distance part to the near part can be obtained for the user in an almost natural way.

  • Patent number: 6409339
Abstract: Multifocal lens provided with a reading part disposed near the bottom part and another lens, such as a distance lens, near the top part. According to the invention, the outer limit of the reading part lies on or within the (outer) radius RV of the remaining part of the lens. This means that no thickening is needed for the reading part, and a particularly gradual transition between reading and distance part can be provided.

  • Patent number: 5396984
Abstract: A container for storing at least one contact lens (12) comprises at least one receiving means (1), one side wall of which is provided with an opening providing access to a receiving space (11) within the receiving means the contact lens is to be received in, a closing means (2) for closing the opening, and a supporting means (13) being integral with said closing means and serving to support the contact lens. The receiving means (1) comprises two at least substantially flat wall parts (3, 4) and wall joint parts (5, 6, 7) joining said wall parts, while a space defined by said wall parts constitutes the receiving space. Additionally, a contact lens storage apparatus designed for storing a plurality of containers according to the invention is provided.
