Abstract: A method of manufacturing an absorbent sanitary paper product having a machine direction, a cross-machine direction orthogonal and co-planar thereto, and a Z-direction orthogonal to both the machine- and cross-machine directions is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: a. providing a first network of fibers having a first and a second side, each fiber of the first network of fibers having a longitudinal axis generally disposed within the plane comprising the machine- and cross-machine-directions; b. applying a first bonding layer in a first pattern to one of the first and second sides of the first network of fibers; and, c. applying a first second network of fibers to the first bonding layer, the first second network of fibers comprising a combination of a first plurality of fibers and a second plurality of fibers. The first and second pluralities of fibers are different.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a liquid refilling system (10) including a parent device (201) and a child or portable travel sized device (101) that can be releasably coupled to the parent device (201) to transfer liquid from the parent to the child device. The parent device (210) is provided with a pump (207) in liquid communication with a parent reservoir (203) containing the liquid. The pump of the parent device has a volume which is preferably substantially equal to the volume (Vcr) of the child reservoir thereby enabling a minimal number of single actuations of the parent pump (207) to completely fill the child reservoir (103) if desired upon coupling thereof.
Abstract: A rotary cutting apparatus is configured to rotate about a first longitudinal axis. The cutting roll includes a cutting member. The apparatus includes an anvil roll that is configured to rotate about a second longitudinal axis. The anvil roll is positioned relative to the cutting roll such that the first longitudinal axis is substantially parallel with the second longitudinal axis. The anvil roll includes an outer circumferential surface. The second longitudinal axis is selectively movable between a first position and a second position relative to the first longitudinal axis. In the first position, a first minimum distance is defined between the first longitudinal axis and the second longitudinal axis. In the second position, a second minimum distance is defined between the first longitudinal axis and the second longitudinal axis, and wherein the second minimum distance is greater than the first minimum distance.
Abstract: An absorbent article may comprise a first zone comprising graphics and a second zone comprising graphics, wherein the first and second zones have different elastic properties. Further, the absorbent article may comprise a first absorbent article component and a second absorbent article component having substantially different elastic properties, wherein the first absorbent article component comprises an elastomer. Additionally, the absorbent article may comprise a third absorbent article component overlapping the first and second absorbent article components, wherein the third absorbent article component comprises graphics on at least the portions which overlap the first and second absorbent article components.

Abstract: A fibrous structure having a basis weight ranging from between about 15 g/m2 and about 120 g/m2 and at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof is disclosed. The surface has a surface area comprising from about 10.0 percent to about 20.0 percent line embossments. Also, a fibrous structure having at least two plies is disclosed. One of the two plies has a basis weight ranging from between about 15 g/m2 and about 120 g/m2 and at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof. The surface has a surface area comprising from about 10.0 percent to about 20.0 percent line embossments.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for conveying absorbent articles may utilize a conveyor including a vacuum source in fluid connection with a deck. The deck may include a channel. The conveyor may also include a belt including a first surface, an opposing second surface, and an aperture. The second surface of the belt may be in facing relationship with the deck such that the aperture is aligned with the channel. A first row of angled teeth and a second row of straight teeth may be connected with the second surface of the belt. The first row of angled teeth and the second row of straight teeth mesh with a first gear member and a second gear member, respectively. The first and second gear members may be attached to an axle member such that the first gear member and the second gear member rotate with the axle member advancing the belt.
Abstract: A fibrous structure having a density (measured at 95 g/in2) of less than about 0.60 g/cm3 and at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof is disclosed. The surface has a surface area comprising from about 10.0 percent to about 20.0 percent line embossments. Also, a fibrous structure having at least two plies is disclosed. One of the two plies has a density (measured at 95 g/in2) of less than about 0.60 g/cm3 and at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof. The surface has a surface area comprising from about 10.0 percent to about 20.0 percent line embossments.
Abstract: A polymeric composition comprising a copolymer of ethylene with at least another monomer comprising at least a heteroatom, a tackifier, less than 10% of a compatible plasticizer or blend of plasticizers and a volatile material. The compositions are able to deliver effectively the volatile material incorporated for a long time and also have good adhesion properties on most substrates.
Abstract: An innovative papermaking belt is disclosed. The papermaking belt has a framework and a reinforcing structure. The framework has a first surface defining a paper-contacting side of the papermaking belt, a second surface opposite the first surface, and conduits extending between the first and second surfaces. The reinforcing structure is positioned between the first surface and at least a portion of the second surface. The reinforcing structure comprises a plurality of machine direction warp yarns interwoven with a plurality of cross-machine direction weft yarns. At least one of the machine direction warp yarns further comprises a measuring device.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a method of transferring discrete articles between a transfer assembly and an apparatus comprising a head. The transfer assembly comprises a frame defining a first rotation axis and a transfer member comprising a transfer surface configured to receive one of the discrete articles. The method comprises rotating the transfer member of the transfer assembly about the first rotation axis at a substantially constant angular velocity, maintaining the transfer surface at a substantially constant minimum distance away from a surface of the head at a point of discrete article transfer, and rotating the head of the apparatus about a second rotation axis at a plurality of angular velocities. A first angular velocity of the head is substantially constant at the point of discrete article transfer.
