Abstract: A rotary device for high-speed printing or coating of a web substrate is disclosed. The printing system provides a gravure roll rotatable about an axis at a surface velocity, ?, and a fluid channel having a pressure drop throughout the fluid channel due to friction, Pf, disposed therein. The fluid channel is disposed generally parallel to the axis at a distance, Rin, relative to the axis. The fluid channel provides fluid communication of a fluid having a fluid vapor pressure, Pv, and a fluid density, ?, from a first position external to the gravure roll to a web substrate contacting surface of the gravure roll. The web substrate contacting surface is located at a distance, Rout, relative to the axis. Rin is determined from the relationship: R in R out > 1 - 2 ? ( P out - P v + P f ) ? ? ? v 2 where Pout=static pressure of the fluid channel at the web substrate contacting surface.

The elastic film has a first longitudinal side edge and a second longitudinal side edge. The stretch laminate further has a first plane of adhesive having differing amounts of adhesive as measured laterally within the stretch laminate. The differing amounts of adhesive being controllable. The first plane of adhesive being interposed between the first nonwoven material and the elastic film. The stretch laminate further has a second plane of adhesive having differing amounts of adhesive as measured laterally within the stretch laminate. The differing amounts of adhesive being controllable. The second plane of adhesive being interposed between the second nonwoven material and the elastic film. Each of the above elements are substantially laminated together to form a laminate. The laminate is activated to form the stretch laminate.

Abstract: Methods for generating predicted product values of a product produced by a machine and for predicting a process of a machine are disclosed. A method for generating predicted product values of a product manufactured by a machine includes presenting a machine input fields requesting parameters associated with actuators and mechanical elements, and presenting product input fields requesting desired product properties. The method further includes receiving parameters from the machine input fields, receiving desired product properties from the product input fields, and calculating output response data by an emulation of a mechanical operation of the machine using the parameters and the desired product properties. The output response data is provided to a product model that calculates predicted product values based on the output response data provided. The method further includes presenting the one or more predicted product values.
Abstract: Emulator computer program machines including an emulator module are disclosed. Abstract: Wearable disposable absorbent articles such as disposable diapers, having elastically extensible fastening members (also sometimes known as fastening “ears”) with particular features, extending from a chassis or main portion of the articles, are disclosed. The fastening members may be highly extensible and have an overall geometry, characterized by greater length nearer the chassis or main portion and lesser length nearer the distal end. Examples disclosed may have a fastener zone having a Stiffness of at least about 1,500 N/m, and shape and dimensional characteristics, that help avoid problems of buckling and/or flipping of edges of the fastening members, dishing of fastener components, and fastening member tearing, while the articles are applied and worn.
