Abstract: A molded component or boot is removably fitted to the narrow edges of a commercial carpet cleaning wand otherwise in contact with carpet to be cleaned. Wider bearing surfaces of the attachment or boot allow for smoother action of the carpet cleaning wand over the carpet, without skip or chatter due to directional nap, such as associated with short nap carpets (e.g., berbers or indoor/outdoor carpet). Functional life of the carpet cleaning wand is extended indefinitely through removal and replacement of the attachment. Screw mounting or other simple removable elements facilitate rapid field service. Lightweight molded plastic contributes to ergonomic aspects without impeding any “spray down” or vacuum functions of the wand.
Abstract: A nozzle for a fluid vacuum cleaning system for simultaneously applying a cleaning fluid and a vacuum force to a surface is provided. The nozzle includes a hollow, rigid wand attached to a suction chamber and a cleaning fluid dispenser head. The suction chamber consists of a front plate and a rear plate which are connected together by a top plate and a pair of opposing side plates. The suction chamber has an open free end in the shape of a narrow slit and further includes at least one aperture positioned on the rear plate. As the cleaning fluid dispenser head sprays a fluid on a surface, the suction chamber removes moisture and dirt from the material being cleaned. The apertures on the rear plate serve to draw in any excess liquid that has accumulated on the surface.
Abstract: A combined nozzle and cleaning fluid dispenser for a fluid vacuum cleaning system is provided. The combined nozzle and cleaning fluid dispenser is for simultaneously applying a cleaning fluid and a vacuum force to a surface or object. The combined nozzle and cleaning fluid dispenser includes a hollow, rigid wand attached to a suction chamber having an open, free end. Attached to the wand is a cleaning fluid sprayer which includes a valve, a lever arm and a spray head for dispensing a cleaning fluid. In accordance with the present invention, the spray head is positioned within the suction chamber. In this arrangement, the cleaning fluid is substantially prevented from being dispensed from the suction chamber unless the suction chamber is in contact with a surface to be cleaned. The combined nozzle and cleaning fluid dispenser of the present invention not only prevents against pooling or puddling of the cleaning fluid but also allows for controlled and precise dispensation of the fluid.
