Abstract: A device which can slide up and down on a chain or cable, can be loosened to attach to the chain or cable, but does not have any parts that come free when the part is loosened. The device includes first and second pieces, each made of structural material, the first and second pieces fitting together at concave and convex surfaces, to form an interlock forms inner surfaces with a through hole of a first shape that can slide along either a cable or a chain.
Abstract: A power supply assembly which can drive a number of different devices at different voltages. A rack holds a number of breaker modules, and each breaker module can connect to one or many breakout boxes. The breakout boxes are keyed to the breaker modules, so that the breaker boxes will not be energized with power unless they are the proper voltage and/or configuration to receive that power. The coil of a contactor in the breaker module is powered by a key wire that is connected through specified pins in the breakout box. Therefore, no power is ever provided to the breakout box unless it is of the proper voltage configuration. In addition, feeder power to the power supply assembly is provided over bolted connections, without any wire connections between the power feed and the circuit breaker.
Abstract: A reconfigurable power pack, that produces rotational power and can be used with separate accessories. The housing can be mounted in a first configuration with its motor facing downward and in which the housing is energized to move along a substantially horizontal extrusion. A second configuration mounts the housing is to move along a track in a deck. Other configurations are also possible.
Abstract: A truss hinge that includes a number of different labeled parts, where connections between the two different parts can constrain the truss to different angles.
Abstract: A luminaire that has multiple removable handles thereon, and can operate in multiple different modes, including a mode where a manual follow spot can occur. To operate in the manual follow spot mode, the luminaire is placed into a free moving mode in which it can be moved, and then the luminaire is moved using the removable handles to manually place the luminaire in a desired location. Then, the luminaire is commanded to remain in that desired location by turning on breaks or the like. In the manual movement mode, movement of the luminaire is manually controlled and not remotely controlled and all of at least color, gobo, beam size and other parameters are remotely controlled.

Abstract: A sound adapting luminaire produces an amount of cooling output that depends on the ambient sound. When the ambient sound is high, the lamp is cooled more aggressively, since more fan noise is acceptable.

Abstract: Zoom lens assembly formed of a number of lens groups on a track. The lens groups can be moved on the track to form different lens effects such as zoom. The devices sense an end of travel in one direction using a hardware device. All the positions are relative to that end of travel, based on values stored in a memory, and by using the memory to drive the lens groups on the track.
Abstract: A software touchscreen displayed on start up for a LAN for an automated light. The software touchscreen is displayed by the software on initial startup, and later, after the initial startup, the same touchscreen is used for controlling the light.
Abstract: A moving light which has an electronic brake that automatically engages when power is released, to prevent movement of a moving head of a light whenever the power is released.
Abstract: An illumination obscurement device for controlling the obscurement of illumination from a light source which is optimized for use with a rectangular, arrayed, selective reflection device. In a preferred embodiment, a rotatable shutter with three positions is placed between a light source and a DMD. The first position of the shutter is a mask, preferably an out of focus circle. This out of focus circle creates a circular mask and changes any unwanted dim reflection to a circular shape. The second position of the shutter is completely open, allowing substantially all the light to pass. The third position of the shutter is completely closed, blocking substantially all the light from passing. By controlling the penumbra illumination surrounding the desired illumination, DMDs can be used in illumination devices without creating undesirable rectangular penumbras.
Abstract: A file system for a stage lighting system that maintains the different files associated with the stage lighting system. Each of the files that can represent an effect are maintained within the system within a configuration file. The configuration file can be updated on each start of the system so that the system can maintain information indicative of current configuration files. A test mode can also be entered in which a pre-formed show can be tested against the current state of the configuration files.
Abstract: A dual sided extrusion, where one side has a different shape than the other side, and the extrusion is intended to be used in different orientations depending on the application.
Abstract: A retrofit kit for an existing light, that has a prewired assembly, including a housing having wiring to electrical mains, an LED light source, at least one control for said LED light source, both said LED light source and said control being wired to said wiring, and said housing having a at least one mounting device that fits on existing structure of the existing light. The mounting structure can include tabs, for example, that attach to hanging part of the light, or can include a part that attaches to the existing surfaces on the housing of the light that previously held the socket for the existing bulb.

Abstract: Color correction system for an automated stage light that allows the color temperature of the light beam to be continuously adjustable to both a higher and lower Kelvin value than the natural temperature of the open beam, by filtering using a dual peak filter and also color correcting the beam.
