Abstract: A composite bumper for the dampening of impact forces applied to a structure to be protected. The composite bumper comprises a first element of a rigid material; a second element resistant to impacts and mechanical abrasions and made of at least one of a first vulcanized rubber and a rigid material; and a third element having the ability to undergo reversible elastic deformations and made of a second vulcanized rubber. The third element is at least in part positioned between the first and the second element. The third element is bound to the first element and the second element because of the vulcanization of unvulcanized rubber composition(s). The first element is provided with means adapted to cooperate with means for the fastening of the composite bumper to the structure to be protected. A use thereof, and a method for the manufacture of the composite bumper.
Abstract: A lip hingedly connectable to a deck of a dock leveler, the lip comprising an elongated body having opposite top and bottom surfaces. The elongated body comprising a hinged edge removably and pivotally connectable to the deck; and a distal edge opposite the hinged edge. The lip further comprises a cover lining adapted to at least partially enclose the top and bottom surfaces of the elongated body so as to mitigate impacts thereon.
