Patents Assigned to Proform Plastics Limited
  • Patent number: 10046631
Abstract: A cover for the deck of a utility vehicle may be formed from a single shell of thermoplastics material and reinforced with an extrusion that, by virtue of being formed in aluminum or another suitable material, has a lower co-efficient of expansion relative to the shell. The two parts of the cover, shell and extrusion, may be secured in such a way that there can be some degree of independent movement between them. Effectively, limited thermal expansion of the shell is allowed without overly compromising the connection between it and the aluminum extrusion. A flexible extrusion may connect the cover to the utility vehicle at one end and act as a hinge such that as it is raised, it is not only displaced in a vertical orientation, but also in a horizontal direction.
