Patent number: 12243462Abstract: A test and measurement device includes a graphical display that may act as an adjunct to a CIE chromaticity diagram 100 when analyzing color images. The graphical display shows indications of excursions of pixel color that are outside the boundary of a selected gamut. The graphic display may show the indications of excursions relative to one or more reference points.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2022Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS, LLCInventors: Lakshmanan Gopishankar, Arvind Madhav Nayak, Brian C. Patent number: 12056913Abstract: A test and measurement device is described that has an input for receiving a selected image, a display output, and one or more processors configured to receive a maximum and minimum luminance value related to the selected image, and generate a chromaticity diagram of the image on the display output for only those pixels in the selected image that have luminance values between the maximum and minimum luminance values. The device may also generate a modified image from the selected image in which pixels from the selected image that fall within the maximum and minimum luminance value are reproduced in the modified image without modification and other pixels not within the maximum and minimum luminance value are modified. Methods are also described.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2021Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS LLCInventors: Lakshmanan Gopishankar, Arvind Madhav Nayak

Patent number: 11627278Abstract: A video format detector receives a video signal in a one of a plurality of possible video formats and produces a detected format. A cumulative distribution function generator generates a cumulative distribution function curve from a component of the video signal and a feature detector generates one or more feature vectors from the cumulative distribution function curve. A video classifier accepts the one or more feature vectors from the feature detector and generates a prediction of the video format in which the video signal was produced based, at least in part, on the received feature vectors.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2020Date of Patent: April 11, 2023Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS, LLCInventor: Daniel G. Patent number: 11238577Abstract: A video analyzer measures and outputs a visual indication of a dynamic range of a video signal. The video analyzer includes a video input to receive the video signal and a cumulative distribution function generator generates a cumulative distribution function curve from a component of the video signal. A feature detector generates one or more feature vectors from the cumulative distribution function curve and a video dynamic range generator produces a visual output indicating a luminance of one or more portions of the video signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2020Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS, LLCInventor: Daniel G. Patent number: 10587872Abstract: A waveform monitor device, or media analysis device, to monitor a video signal. The waveform monitor device may include an input to receive the video signal, the video signal having a plurality of frames, a memory to store the received video signal, a processor coupled to the memory, and a display. The processor separates the video signal into at least two component signals, for at least one component signal, determines a peak value of the at least one component signal for at least one frame of the plurality of frames, generates a marker at the peak value, determines if the peak value violates a predetermined threshold, and generates an alert when the peak value violates the predetermined threshold. The at least one component signal, the marker at the peak value on the component signal and the alert when the peak value violates the predetermined threshold are displayed on the display to allow a user to quickly determine if a video signal is within a required threshold.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2017Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS, LLCInventors: John Hubbard, Todd S. Patent number: 10581965Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism of operating a Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) Application Programming Interface (API) at a node controlling a local device including a local receiver. A flow message is received via the NMOS API. The flow message contains a flow state of a target receiver at a remote node. A local receiver at the local device is configured to mirror the flow state of the target receiver at the remote node. The NMOS API then notifies a registry with an updated flow state of the local receiver at the local device.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2017Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: PROJECT GIANTS, LLCInventor: Duncan G.
