Abstract: The representation of content, in a scene representation, is enriched with a view to the adaptive use of the latter according to a set of common parameters. A sub-graph of the scene graph, which is susceptible to variable processing, is identified. For this purpose, two new types of scene element can be defined, one of which allows the identification of the sub-graph and the second enables application of the set of common parameters in relation to the sub-graph. An example of the first type is a node of so-called “AdaptivityControl” type which encompasses the entire sub-graph, a list of the nodes describing the set of common parameters and a group of fields for dynamic updating of the content of this node. An example of the second type is a node of so-called “CompressedImageStrategy” type which comprises information relating to the object to be coded and the coding parameters.

In various implementations, the attributes and their indices may be used by these pieces of equipment for updating a shared dictionary of indexed attributes. Upon coding, the attributes of the collaboration messages may be substituted with their indices; and upon decoding, the inverse operation may be carried out. The shared dictionaries may be destroyed at the end of the session.

A caller registration system allows callers to select a private identifier unique to the caller and registers the callers in a caller registry database. The subscriber establishes the preferred caller database by connecting to the caller registration system and selecting the preferred callers. The private identifiers associated with the selected preferred callers are then stored in the preferred caller database. When a caller calls the subscriber, the caller is asked to enter the caller's private identifier. A caller disposition process is initiated based on whether the private identifier is in the preferred caller database.
