Abstract: A latch includes a support structure to be fitted to the frame (F) of a backrest of a seat; and a coupling mechanism associated with the support structure and adapted to be coupled to a fixed striker (R) in a releasable manner when the backrest is in a substantially straight position. The latch also includes an elongated member, which, on one side, is adapted to be firmly and directly coupled to the support structure and, on the other side, is adapted to be firmly and directly coupled to the frame (F), without obstructing the operation of the coupling mechanism.
