Abstract: A directional control valve for selectively communicating a valve outlet to one of a vent port and a pressure supply port includes a poppet extending through a cage. Relative positioning of the poppet to the cage selects which of the vent and pressure supply port is communicated to the valve outlet. The poppet position relative to the cage is provided by supplying fluid pressure to one of the opposed sides thereof, and the poppet latches with the cage so that the fluid pressure on one of the sides of the poppet need not be maintained to maintain the poppet position in the valve.
