Abstract: A cutting tool adapted to be deployed into a well casing for cutting through casing strings comprises a nozzle for directing a jet of an abrasive slurry at the wall of a well casing to sever the well casing and a mechanical locking arranged provided above the nozzle, said locking arrangement comprises radially expandable means selectively engageable with an inner wall of the well casing within which the tool is deployed, to prevent axial and/or rotational movement of the tool in the well during cutting operations.

Abstract: A subsea friction welding apparatus comprises a chuck for supporting and retaining a weld item prior to welding the weld item to a work-piece, said chuck comprises a plurality of jaws having an internal profile to grip a corresponding profiled surface on the weld item and means for radially expanding the internal profile of the jaws of the chuck, said means actuable by axial insertion of the weld item into the chuck thereby avoiding relative rotation of the chuck and the weld item during insertion of the weld item into the chuck. In operation of the method, a supply of weld items and a weld head are deployed to a subsea location and the weld items are loaded via ROV into the weld head at the subsea location.

Abstract: An apparatus for carrying well samplers including a tubular carrier housing, a crossover sub connected to the housing, and a pair of adjacent single phase samplers set off from the tool centerline axis thereby providing an offset interspatial through-bore region to support wireline operations. The pair of single phase samplers are removably disposed between upper and lower positioning inserts. The inserts have recessed sampler seats and through-bores that align with the interspatial through-bore region. A conduit fluidly connects one pair of recessed seats to the tool exterior so as to port annulus pressure to the pressure-activated triggering mechanisms of the samplers. A rupture disk housing is removably connected to the triggering conduit from an exterior recess in the crossover sub. The other positioning insert includes a clamping mechanism to removably secure the samplers within the carrier. Multiple assemblies of crossover subs and carrier housing can be connected in tandem.
