Patent number: 11052133Abstract: This disclosure provides a composition containing a conjugate with a modified insulin molecule. The conjugate has an insulin molecule, which can be insulin or an insulin analog, glucagon, GLP-1, GLP-2 or a GLP-1 agonist. The conjugate also contains one or more polymers. Each of the one or more polymers is covalently linked to the insulin molecule. Additionally, each of the one or more polymers is covalently linked to between 0 to 50 copies of a decoy ligand, and to between 0 to 50 copies of a glucose-binding agent, such that the combined total number of glucose-binding agents and decoy ligands covalently linked to each of the one or more polymers is at least 1. The conjugate can reversibly bind to soluble glucose and in which the extent of its glucose-binding controls the extent to which the modified insulin is able to bind to and activate the insulin receptor. Methods of making the conjugate, as well as use of the conjugate in treatment, are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2016Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: Protomer Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Alborz Mahdavi

Patent number: 8754541Abstract: An energy generation system includes an inner tower, an outer tower and a plurality of wind turbines. The outer shell defines a wind or fluid amplifying surface. The plurality of wind turbines is carried by the outer shell and disposed relative to the wind amplifying surface to harness wind deflected by the wind amplifying surface.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2010Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: Design Protom Inc.Inventor: Marc Van Den Bulcke

Patent number: 8607983Abstract: A system for discretely packaging liquid or solid medication, or other substances, comprising a tray (10) with individual compartments (12) each containing a removable pot (17) and a perforated sealed sheet (21) enabling individual pots to be removed from the tray (10) for dispensing of its contents. The system also includes a computer and printer with software to create printed matter for the sheet (21) representative of the contents of the individual pots (17). An outer container (24) may receive several such filled and sealed trays (10) and an information sheet (28). One or more windows (30) in the container (24) provide a visual display of the contents. The system enables safe, accurate and easy packaging and dispensing of medication or other substances.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2008Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Protomed LimitedInventors: Norman Niven, John Niven

Patent number: 8157838Abstract: A device for delivering a plug (1) in a vessel of a human or animal body, includes an inserter provided with a guiding channel (4) and elements for urging the plug into the channel (4), characterized in that the channel (4) is adapted for radially compressing the plug during the displacement thereof towards the distal end of the channel (4). The compression of the plug (1) is carried out only a few seconds before its placement while respecting the integrity thereof. The elasticity characteristics of the plug (1) are thus fully preserved. The present device can be used in open surgery or endoscopy, mainly in vascular surgery.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2007Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: ProtomedInventors: Michel Costecalde, Jerome Cau, Frederic Mouret, Joachim Ramos Clamote

Patent number: 7828834Abstract: A device for connection between previously intubed ends of a corporeal duct and a substantially tubular prosthesis. The device can be a meshed structure, such as a mesh sleeve, that is deformable by means of a balloon catheter and capable of radial expansion between a stable configuration of minimum diameter and a final configuration after expansion that is likewise stable. A series of teeth for transfixing overlapping parts of the sleeve, uniformly aligned in a ring formation and radially oriented, can be found at each end of the mesh structure. The teeth are of a hemostatic profile including a base part with a circular cross-section extended by a trihedral terminal portion.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2003Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: ProtomedInventor: Jean-François Garbé
