Abstract: A system for discretely packaging liquid or solid medication, or other substances, comprising a tray (10) with individual compartments (12) each containing a removable pot (17) and a perforated sealed sheet (21) enabling individual pots to be removed from the tray (10) for dispensing of its contents. The system also includes a computer and printer with software to create printed matter for the sheet (21) representative of the contents of the individual pots (17). An outer container (24) may receive several such filled and sealed trays (10) and an information sheet (28). One or more windows (30) in the container (24) provide a visual display of the contents. The system enables safe, accurate and easy packaging and dispensing of medication or other substances.
Abstract: In a system for discretely packaging liquid or solid medication or other substances comprising a compartmented tray (10) with a perforated sealed sheet (21) attached thereto and individual removable pots (17) to which the sealed sheet is also sealed, a heat sealing machine to cause the sheet (21) to be sealed to the individual pots (17) and to the tray (10) whist simultaneously folding and sealing a front flap (29) of the film (21) to an end face (15) of the tray, comprising a heated plate (30) and a spring loaded pressure plate (32) with a supplementary heated member (36) and adjustable spot- sealing pins (37) pivotally mounted on the machine such that as the heated plate (30) seals the top of the film (21) so the pins (37) fold the front flap (29) of the film (21) down over the end of the tray and seal it thereto. Thus, the film (21) is sealed to the tray on two planes substantially simultaneously.
Abstract: A medication temporary storage and transporting carrier comprising a tray (30) with a hinged and closable lid (31), preferably made as one piece from moulded plastics, the tray (30) defining a number of side-by-side apertures (32) adapted to receive individual sealed containers (17) of liquid or solid medication or the like each with a flange (18) resting upon the tray and retained therein by the lid (31) when closed. Each container (17) may be individually removed from the tray whereupon its contents may be dispensed after removal of its individual sealed film (23). The carrier provides a convenient means of transporting small numbers of medication containers as may be required during short periods.
