Abstract: A method and system for deploying and customizing advertisement selection logic without requiring a shutdown and/or restart of system resources. A first arrangement of advertisement logic may include filters to be executed in a pipeline model. A second arrangement of advertisement selection logic may be determined based at least in part on information received. Alternatively, the second arrangement of advertisement selection logic may be automatic based at least in part on statistics or defined hints. The second arrangement of advertisement selection logic may be implemented using different filters or rearranged filters in an updated pipeline model.

Abstract: Methods, devices and computer program products for facilitating the selection of a sourcing peer in peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming environment are disclosed. These methods allow peers to select candidate source peers in an informed manner with low overhead and minimized complexity. These and other features are accomplished by signaling detailed information regarding the buffer contents to one or more requesting peers. This information includes the presence or absence of requested content segments and a listing of gaps in the requested content segments, which allow the requesting peers to select an appropriate sourcing peer. The selection of a sourcing peer is also effected by considering network connectivity and/or network congestion status between the sourcing and the requesting peers.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing advertising content to terminals communicating over a communications network is provided. The apparatus includes a processing element that communicates with network elements residing on the network or other networks to receive information regarding the terminals and their users. At least one of the terminals may be a mobile terminal. The processing element communicates an instruction to an advertising platform based on this information, and the advertising platform in turn selects and transmits advertising content to the respective terminals according to the instruction. Such content may include text messages, voice messages, picture messages, video clips, and more. In some cases, the processing element may determine a common characteristic of two or more terminals and their users based on the information received, and advertising content based on that common characteristic may be sent to the terminals. A method, system, and computer program product are also provided.
