    Abstract: A fire-resistant safety cable may include: at least two electrical conductors; an insulating layer around each of the at least two electrical conductors in order to obtain at least two separate insulated elements; and/or an outer jacket surrounding the at least two separate insulated elements. The insulating layer may be formed from at least one polymeric material capable of being converted, at least on a surface of the insulating layer, into a ceramic state at high temperatures in a fire. The at least two separate insulated elements may be untwisted and arranged so as to be parallel to each other, side by side, and separated by a space. The outer jacket may at least partially fill the space. A thickness of the outer jacket may be approximately constant over an external surface of the at least two separate insulated elements.

The cable also comprises at least one removable indicator strip (150): that extends longitudinally over at least one arc portion of the external circumferential surface of the protective sheath; that is made of a material enabling said at least one removable indicator strip to adhere to the protective sheath, while being capable of being detached from the protective sheath without altering it, by applying an extraction force per unit of width of said at least one removable indicator strip greater than a predetermined threshold; that has a thickness so that the external diameter of the protective sheath increased by the thickness of said at least one removable indicator strip is within said range of values.

    Abstract: A protection device for a power cable that includes a central conductor surrounded by insulation based on paper impregnated with material based on impregnation oil may include a sheath around the insulation, a first portion of the cable stripped of the sheath, an adjacent portion of the cable stripped of both the insulation and sheath, the adjacent portion penetrating the connector; an outer protection extending over at least the first and adjacent portions, and extending over the connector; and/or a plug of high-permittivity mastic material filling an axial space extending along the adjacent portion. The outer protection may include a barrier layer in contact with the insulation along at least part of the first portion. The barrier layer may include elastomer material that is virtually impermeable to the oil. The plug may axially separate the barrier layer and connector to prevent migration of the oil into the connector.
