  • Patent number: 5012712
Abstract: A tool holder for a punching machine includes a housing attached to the frame of the machine for the purpose of accommodating a punch holder with a number of punches capable of actuation as required. The housing is essentially coaxial with the cutter slide of the machine. The punches are arranged with equal spacing around a pitch circle which is coaxial with the cutter slide and the housing, and eccentrically in relation to the cutter slide. Extending directly in line with each punch is a push-rod, which is supported in such a way as to permit its axial movement inside the housing in parallel with the common axis of the housing and the cutter slide. Each push-rod is so arranged as to be actuated by an impact heel capable of rotating relative to the housing about the axis of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4779329
Abstract: A tool changer for rotatable tool assemblies in punching machines has coaxial, upper and lower synchronously rotatable tool housings (1,2). These are parted along a plane through the rotational axis to form a stationary rotatable guide part (11,11') and a guide part (12,12') radially movable relative said axis. The respective parts (11,12 and 11',12') can be latched to each other for receiving and guiding coacting tool assemblies. Transfer means (20,21) transfer tool assemblies between a turret magazine (30,31) and the tool housings. The transfer means are coupled to the movable guide parts (12,12') of the housings. The coupling permits the housings to be rotated after the movable guide part with the aid of its transfer means has moved a tool to a working position in the tool housing and the guide parts of the housing are mutually latched.

  • Patent number: 4182022
Abstract: Apparatus for changing tools in a punching machine comprises concentric upper and lower turret magazines carrying tools disposed with their axes on concentric pitch circles. Guide means for successively moving the tools from the magazines to an operating position comprises fixed and movable guide portions having complementary guide surfaces for the tools. The fixed guide portion is outside the pitch circles of the magazines and the movable guide portion is movable between a first operating position in engagement with the fixed guide portion, a second changing positions in which the axis of its guide surface intersects the pitch circles of said magazines and a third neutral position inside the pitch circles so that the tools can pass between the fixed and movable guide portions when the magazines are indexed.

  • Patent number: 4174732
Abstract: A valve arrangement for automatically stopping the flow through a conduit section on the occurrence of a rupture or leak in the section, the arrangement comprising a closing or blocking valve including a movable closure device mounted at the inlet of the conduit section. The valve is normally open and offers the medium flowing therethrough a resistance resulting in a first pressure drop across the valve in response to the size of the flow. This first pressure drop is arranged to actuate the closure device to thereby close same. A flow sensing device is mounted at the outlet of the conduit section, and an orifice plate or venturi constriction is located between the inlet and outlet sides thereof, so that the medium flowing therethrough generates a second pressure drop in response to the size of the flow, this latter pressure drop being arranged to actuate the closure device in an opening direction.
