Patents Assigned to Pulsar Welding Ltd.
  • Patent number: 7256373
Abstract: An apparatus (30) and method for forming of a vehicle's driveshaft (32) is provided which makes use of a PMF process. The coil device used in the PMF apparatus is assembled around the shaft from two or more coil sections (40, 41, 43; 42, 44, 45) firmly attached to one another, and which may be disassembled from one another to allow to remove the formed driveshaft (32).

  • Patent number: 6708542
Abstract: A metal plate is formed in a process comprising cutting, perforating or both, by forcing the plate, by means of an abrupt and intense force towards a mold having openings or boundaries defined by wall sections which extend essentially normal to the forming plane of the mold. Consequently, the plate is cut along the edges of the openings or boundaries. The force may be a pulsed magnetic force or may be a force generated as a result of the discharge of electric current through a fluid.

  • Patent number: 6591649
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a generally planar metal plate into a dish with a three-dimensional pattern is provided. The apparatus comprises a mold having a forming surface with a contour corresponding to said three-dimensional pattern, and having edges corresponding to boundaries of the dish, which edges are defined by side walls essentially perpendicular to the forming plane; a forming device comprising a fluid basin and pairs of electric discharge members within the fluid and having an opening facing the mold to allow transmission of a pressure wave from the fluid to the metal plate; and an electric discharge circuitry for discharging a short and intense electric current through the pairs of electric discharge members generating an electric spark or breakdown within the fluid to yield formation of plasma, vapor or both.

  • Patent number: 6564605
Abstract: An electromagnetic forming apparatus for forming an essentially planar metal plate into a dish having a three-dimensional pattern, is provided. The apparatus comprises a mould having a forming surface with a contour corresponding to said three-dimensional pattern; a forming coil device; and an electric discharge circuitry for discharging a short and intense electric current pulse through the forming coil device to yield a pulsed magnetic forming (PMF) force for deforming said plate.

  • Patent number: 5824998
Abstract: A method of joining or welding of at least a portion of a first metal workpiece to at least a portion of one or more second metal workpieces, comprising inducing movement in said portion of the first workpiece by means of a pulsed magnetic force so as to impact said portion of the second workpiece, the movement imparting a kinetic energy on the at least portion of the first workpiece to cause the two at least portions to join or weld to one another.
