Abstract: The invention generally relates to systems and methods for synthesizing a reaction product and increasing yield of the same. In certain aspects, the invention provides a multi-mode reaction system in which in a first mode one or more valves of the system are configured to cause reagents to flow from one or more reagent reservoirs of the system through one or more components of the system to generate a reaction product; and in a second mode the one or more valves are configured to change flow within the system such that the one or more reagent reservoirs are isolated from a remainder of the system and the generated reaction product and any remaining reactants are recycled back through the multi-mode reaction system to increase a yield of the reaction product.
Abstract: A method of producing metallic sodium powders. The method includes immersing one or more solid pieces of sodium metal in an organic liquid containing a hydrocarbon oil. The solid piece(s) of sodium metal immersed in the hydrocarbon oil is (are) then subjected to ultrasonic irradiation, wherein the solid piece of sodium metal is fragmented to form sodium powder, resulting in a dispersion of the sodium powder in the organic liquid. The dispersed sodium powder is then separated from the organic liquid, resulting in metallic sodium powder. A method of presodiation of an anode in an electrochemical cell. The method includes adding sodium metal powders to the surface of the anode either as a dry powder or as a suspension of the sodium particles in an organic liquid. Abstract: A method of providing super-resolved images of a photon emitting particle is disclosed, which includes providing a machine-learning (ML) platform, wherein the ML platform is configured to receive pixel-based sparse autocorrelation data and generate a predicted super-resolved image of a photon emitting particle, receiving photons from the photon emitting particle by two or more photon detectors, each generating an electrical pulse associated with receiving an incident photon thereon, generating sparse autocorrelation data from the two or more photon detectors for each pixel within an image area, and inputting the pixel-based sparse autocorrelation data to the ML platform, thereby generating a predicted super-resolved image of the imaging area, wherein the resolution of the super-resolved image is improved by ?n as compared to a classical optical microscope limited by Abbe diffraction limit.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to two-dimensional mass spectrometry using ion micropacket detection. In certain aspects, the invention provides systems including a mass spectrometer having an ion trap and one or more detectors. The system includes a central processing unit (CPU), and storage coupled to the CPU for storing instructions that when executed by the CPU cause the system to: apply one or more scan functions to the ion trap that excite a precursor ion and eject a product ion from the ion trap; and determine a secular frequency of the product ion by detecting micropackets of the product ion as the micropackets are ejected from the ion trap.

Abstract: An enclosure for safe transportation and storage of a battery or a collection of batteries. The enclosure contains a plurality of batteries held together by a polymer structure, wherein the polymer structure contains s pockets capable of encapsulating at least one fire extinguishing fluid. Sensors deployed on a surface of each battery in the plurality of batteries are capable of monitoring surface temperature and volume expansion of each battery in the enclosure and providing signal output. The enclosure also contains a toxic gas release management and containment system.

Abstract: A system may receive a first directed acyclic graphic (DAG) for an application. The system may model performance of each function in the DAG to generate a performance model. The system may generate a plurality of variant DAGs. For each of the variant DAGs, the system may obtain a configuration vector and forecast, based on the performance model and the configuration vector, a plurality of end-to-end latency distributions for the variant DAGS. The system may select the variant DAG and configuration vector based on a selection criteria. The system may cause an application to be executed according to the variant DAG and configuration vector.
Abstract: A system may receive a directed acyclic graphic (DAG) for an application. The system may profile the DAG with a plurality of computer resource allocations to generate an end-to-end (E2E) latency model. The system may generate, based on the E2E latency model, an execution plan comprising optimized computer resource allocations and timing information. The system may cause a computing infrastructure to execute a function in a first stage of the DAG model on a first virtual machine right sized according to the execution plan. The system may cause the computing infrastructure to initialize, at a time determined specified by the execution plan, a second virtual machine for a function in a second stage in the DAG model. The system may cause the FaaS infrastructure to execute the function in the second stage on the second virtual machine after completion of the function in the first stage.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of operating on a program is disclosed which includes executing at least one instruction towards method of operating a program, the execution includes receiving request for input data associated with at least one dataset; at run time determining if the input data associated with the at least one dataset is resident on memory of one or more processors of a second class (Class2 Processors), if the associated data is resident on the memory of at least one or more processors of a first class (Class2 Processors) and not resident on the memory of the Class2 Processors, i) retrieving only the associated input data from the memory of the Classi Processors, ii) copying the associated input data onto the memory of the Class2 Processors, iii) using the retrieved input data in the execution of the at last one instruction, and iv) generating output data.
Abstract: A method of determining a property of a liquid system, the liquid system including at least one molecule in a solvent, comprises: generating a quantum model of the liquid system, the quantum model including a device region and a lead region, the device region being spherical, paraboloid, cubic or arbitrary in shape and encompassing the at least one molecule and a portion of the solvent of the liquid system, the lead region encompassing a region of the solvent surrounding the device region, determining a first property of the device region by solving a first quantum equation for the device region, determining the first property of the lead region by solving the first quantum equation under open boundary conditions for the lead region, and combining the first property of the device region with the first property of the lead region to arrive at a total first property for the liquid system.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to systems and methods for separating ions at about or above atmospheric pressure. In certain embodiments, the invention provides systems that include an ionization source that generates ions and an ion trap. The ion trap is maintained at about or above atmospheric pressure and includes a plurality of electrodes and at least one inlet configured to receive a gas flow and at least one outlet. The system is configured such that a combination of a gas flow and one or more electric fields produced by the electrodes separates the ions based on mass-to-charge ratio and sends the separated ions through the at least one outlet of the ion trap.

Abstract: Disclosed is a visual and spatial programming system for robot navigation and robot-IoT task authoring. Programmable mobile robots serve as binding agents to link stationary IoT devices and perform collaborative tasks. Three key elements of robot task planning (human-robot-IoT) are coherently connected with one single smartphone device. Users can perform visual task authoring in an analogous manner to the real tasks that they would like the robot to perform with using an augmented reality interface. The mobile device mediates interactions between the user, robot(s), and IoT device-oriented tasks, guiding the path planning execution with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) to enable robust room-scale navigation and interactive task authoring.
Abstract: The present application relates generally to a process of manufacturing an optimized packing material comprising chia seed mucilage (CSM), glycerol, and sorbitol, wherein said packaging materials have a good tensile strength (2.005 N/mm2), lower water vapor permeability (1.73×10?9 g×s×Pa/m), a good flexibility (e.g. high elongation at break, 31.729%). The optimum conditions of polyol concentration were 1.3 g of glycerol and 2.0 g of sorbitol per g of CSM. Based on these results, chia seed mucilage can successfully be used to develop biofilms with potential to be used in drug delivery and edible food coating applications. Both the process and the products are within the scope of this application.
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) application authoring system is disclosed. The AR application authoring system enables the real-time creation of freehand interactive AR applications with freehand inputs. The AR application authoring system enables intuitive authoring of customized freehand gesture inputs through embodied demonstration while using the surrounding environment as a contextual reference. A visual programming interface is provided with which users can define freehand interactions by matching the freehand gestures with reactions of virtual AR assets. Thus, users can create personalized freehand interactions through simple trigger-action programming logic. Further, with the support of a real-time hand gesture detection algorithm, users can seamlessly test and iterate on the authored AR experience.

Abstract: A wearable sensor decal may include a flexible wrapper layer, an intermediate layer, and a porous film layer. A first plurality of electrodes may be deposited on the wrapper layer. A heating element may be conductivity coupled to the first plurality of electrodes. A second plurality of electrodes may be deposited on the intermediate layer. A biosensor may be conductively coupled to the second plurality of electrodes. The flexible film may be hydrophilic to allow biofluids pass to the biosensor and the wrapper layer may be hydrophobic to provide waterproofing to the biosensor and heating element. The heating element may be powered to reduce thermal variance in biosensor measurements.
Abstract: A method of performing magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) includes transmitting a multi-slice excitation pulse through tissue, the multi-slice excitation pulse configured to generate multi-slice MRSI signals. The method also includes performing density weighted concentric ring acquisition on the multi-slice MRSI signals. The method further includes receiving the generated multi-slice MRSI signals in a plurality of sensors disposed in various locations around the tissue. Imaging data is reconstructed based on the acquired imaging signals. A representation of the data is displayed.
Abstract: A medical patch may include a flexible substrate and a plurality of water-soluble microneedles extending from a surface of the substrate. The water-soluble microneedles may include polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and calcium peroxide (CPO). Application of the medical patch to a wound causes the PVP to dissolve and the CPO to interact with the water and form hydrogen peroxide and oxygen.
Abstract: Provided is a method to form a thermoplastic composite with electrically and thermally conductive constituents. The method may include receiving a molten rod having a polymer composite core. The method may further include embedding the rod with at least one conductive wire. Embedding the rod with the at least one wire may include wrapping the at least one conductive wire around the rod and tensioning the wire thereby causing the wire to at least partially embed into the rod.
