Abstract: An adsorbent composition, adsorbent apparatus, and gas purification process using the absorbent composition are provided for the removal of hydrogen sulfide from a gas containing at least hydrogen sulfide as an impurity. The adsorbent composition includes a combination of at least one carbon material, at least one clay material, and at least one metal oxide. In particular, the combination of carbon material(s), clay material(s) and metal oxide(s) provide for effective removal of hydrogen sulfide from a gas at a reduced cost.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a device for electronically monitoring the consumption of gas adsorbent media in a media bed includes forming a monitoring rod of a corrosion resistant material. A plurality of sensors are attached to an exterior surface of the monitoring rod, and a communication channel is routed between each sensor and the connecting rod.
Abstract: A radial air purification system, a method of forming the purification system, and methods of removing at least one contaminant from a gas using the purification system are provided. The radial air purification system includes adsorbent media tubular supports that are fabricated using a fiberglass grating structure to provide increased strength, corrosion resistance, reduction in weight, and lower fabrication costs.
Abstract: A system electronically monitors the consumption of gas adsorbent media in a media bed. The system includes a controller and a monitoring rod having a plurality of sensors disposed on the monitoring rod. The sensors are in communication with the controller. Each sensor includes a corrodible portion having an exposed electrically conducting material susceptible to corrosion by a corrosive agent, a first lead in electrical contact with a first end of the corrodible portion, and a second lead in electrical contact with a second end of the corrodible portion. The corrodible portion, the first lead and the second lead together form a continuous communication path to the controller, and the monitoring rod is at least partially disposed in the media.
