Patents Assigned to PURE DEPTH, INC.
  • Patent number: 11150486
Abstract: An instrument panel may include a multi-layer display including a first display panel and second display panel arranged in a substantially parallel manner, a backlight configured to provide light to the first display panel and the second display panel of the multi-layer display system, and a processing system comprising at least one processor and memory. The processing system may be configured to: display content including an object on a first display panel; divide the object into a plurality of segments; assign to each divided segment a position in a time sequence; and responsive to instructions, display, on the second display panel, segments corresponding to the segments of the object displayed on the first display panel, wherein the segments displayed on the first and second display panel are animated by varying optical properties of each segment according to the positions assigned the segments in the time sequence.

  • Patent number: 10672311
Abstract: A multi-layer display (MLD) system may include a plurality of display screens including at least first and second display screens arranged in a substantially parallel and overlapping manner, and a processing system comprising at least one processor and memory. The processing system may be configured to render content on and between two MLD layers, such that the content is correctly rendered from the perspective angle of the viewer.

  • Patent number: 10642063
Abstract: A multi-display system (e.g., a display including multiple display panels) includes at least first and second displays (e.g., display panels or display layers) arranged substantially parallel to each other in order to display three-dimensional (3D) features to a viewer(s). The first and second displays have different color filter patterns, respectively, as viewed from a point of view of a viewer of the display device, in order to reduce moiré interference.

  • Patent number: 10642062
Abstract: A multi-layered display (MLD) system having improved reliability for vehicular and other applications, is described. In one example, the MLD system detects a fault associated with a first display screen of the MLD, selects one of the display screens other than the first display screen as a backup display screen, combines an image generated for displaying on the first display screen and an image generated for displaying on the selected backup display screen to form a combined image, and displays the combined image on the selected backup display screen.

  • Patent number: 10489006
Abstract: A display control system for a multi-layer display system including at least one multi-layer display unit. A multi-layer display unit includes multiple stacked or overlapped display layers each adapted to render display elements thereon for viewing through the uppermost display layer. The level of difficulty for a user to view an overlapped image differs depending on the colour, brightness or type of images (for example text-on-text) being displayed and also the layer in which the image is being displayed and whether the image is currently active. At least any overlapping portion of display elements from different display layers are adjusted (automatically or by a user) in order to improve the viewing experience for a viewer. Types of adjustment possible include moving the images within their display layer or to an alternative display layer or altering their visual properties (such as colour, brightness, contrast, etc.).
