Patent number: 7599815Abstract: A method for measuring compliance with building air quality attribute set points. The method includes the steps of sensing a first attribute of environmental air quality, setting a range of acceptable values for the first attribute, setting a penalty function for the first attribute and comparing sensed data to the first range of acceptable values. The first penalty function is applied as appropriate to assess a first set of points for the first attribute. An index value is created that is a function of the first set of points. In another aspect, the method includes sensing a second attribute, comparing the data against acceptable values and applying a second penalty function as appropriate. The index value is also a function of the second set of points. In yet another aspect, the method includes the step of sensing a first attribute at a second site.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2006Date of Patent: October 6, 2009Assignee: PureChoice, Inc.Inventors: Bryan S. Reichel, James M. Kennedy

Patent number: 6782351Abstract: An air quality monitoring system at a site having a private communications network adapted to carry data traffic. The air quality monitoring system includes at least one sensor assembly programmed to collect air quality data at the site. The sensor assembly includes at least one air quality sensor adapted to measure a level of an air quality attribute. The air quality sensor is coupled to a microprocessor and a data storage device. A communications device couples the microprocessor to the private communications network. A public communications network is coupled to the private communications network. An archiving and processing system at a remote data collection site is coupled to the public communications network. The archiving and processing system includes a controller programmed to automatically store air quality data in the database from one or more sensor assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2002Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Assignee: PureChoice, Inc.Inventors: Bryan S. Reichel, Joseph L. Wolf

Patent number: 5892690Abstract: An environment monitoring system and method for systematically and continuously monitoring an environment. The system and method includes a data acquisition system which is programmed to systematically collect environment data for a site. The data acquisition system includes sensors coupled to a data storage device having a remote access device for electronic access from a remote system. Data may be uploaded to a remote database for storing environment data from many sites. The remote database includes a remote access device so that the data storage devices of various data acquisition sites can be electronically coupled to the remote database for centralized data collection and storage.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1997Date of Patent: April 6, 1999Assignee: PureChoice, Inc.Inventors: Joey F. Boatman, Bryan S. Reichel

Patent number: RE38985Abstract: An environment monitoring system and method for systematically and continuously monitoring an environment. The system and method includes a data acquisition system which is programmed to systematically collect environment air quality environmental data and non-weather data for a site. The data acquisition system includes sensors coupled to a data storage device having a remote access device for electronic access from a remote system. Data may be uploaded to a remote database for storing environment data from many sites. The remote database includes a remote access device so that the data storage devices of various data acquisition sites can be electronically coupled to the remote database for centralized data collection and storage.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2001Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: PureChoice, Inc.Inventors: Joey F.
