Patents Assigned to Purewater Sciences International, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4957624
Abstract: Contaminated water is purified by introduction into a filter, filtering the water, accumulating the partially purified water delivered from the filter, heating the collected water to a temperature near its boiling point, reintroducing the collected water into the same filter, and continuously repeating the filtering, accumulation and heating steps with attendent further purification, until the degree of contamination of such water has dropped below a predetermined level. A predetermined portion of the purified water may be distilled subsequent to the completion of the purification operation, and the distilled water is collected for eventual consumption. An arrangement for performing the above method includes a vessel (9) have a filter (7) arranged at its upper region (20) (9a), and a lid (3) removably supported on the vessel and may include a jet deflector (100) for providing more uniform flow of slugs and water vapor to the filter inlet.

  • Patent number: 4948499
Abstract: Water purification is performed in a simplified manner within a vessel having at least the lower portion thereof filled with a filtration media such as activated carbon. A spout is provided near the upper end. A filter media placed in the spout. The top of the vessel is closed with a cap which is vented to permit the escape of matter which is vaporized during the heating phase. The vessel preferably has a handle to aid in the dispensing of the purified water. The vessel is preferably formed of a material which is safe for use in microwave heating devices. A valve may be provided at the bottom of the vessel for dispensing purified water directly into a container such as a cooking vessel or beverage maker. In another embodiment the liquid is purified as it rises through the carbon in the container.

  • Patent number: 4882052
Abstract: A filter structure including inlet and outlet members between which is sandwiched a suitable filtration media, such as activated carbon and mechanical filters, either being taken alone or in combination with one another. The upper inlet member is provided with substantially circular arrays of openings being arranged at spaced intervals about imaginary circles of different diameters and having a common center. The openings further removed from the common center of the imaginary circles are of greater diameter. The surface in which the openings are provided tapers downwardly and outwardly from the aforementioned common center causing liquid deposited thereon to seek passage through the openings furthest removed from the aforesaid common center. The second, lower member is provided with three (3) sets of arrays similar to that provided in the upper inlet member.

  • Patent number: 4867875
Abstract: A water purifier continuously circulates water under treatment between heating and purification apparatus. The purified water is selectively dispensed either directly into a vessel for food preparation or other uses requiring purified water, or into a beverage maker wherein a liquid distribution apparatus is utilized to uniformly distribute the liquid, for example, into a basket containing ground coffee for producing hot coffee through a percolation technique. The combined water purifier and beverage maker reduces the utensils needed for the above-mentioned functions and reduces the amount of space required for such utensils.
