Abstract: A lever assembly for a wheelchair having a wheel lock system with two wheel lock assemblies. Each wheel lock assembly including a wheel lock and an actuator with an actuation cable that controllably moves a lock-pin between a locking and an unlocking position relative to the wheelchair wheels. The lever assembly has a body and a lever, with the body attached to the wheelchair and both actuation cables, and the lever attached to and controlling both actuation cables to manipulate the lock-pins to engage or disengage the wheelchair wheels. The lever is adapted for use by disabled occupants.
Abstract: A wheelchair wheel lock system for a wheelchair having a wheel lock plate with a locking face. The system includes a control cable, a lock-pin, a remote actuator and a biasing member. The control cable operatively connects the lock-pin with the remote actuator. The lock-pin is positioned proximate the locking face and selectively engages and disengages with the locking face when urged by the actuator. The biasing member urges the lock-pin to disengage from the locking face.

Abstract: A plate assembly for a wheelchair having a wheel lock system for a spoked wheel. The wheel lock assembly includes an actuator that moves a lock-pin between locking and unlocking positions with the wheel. The plate assembly has three generally flat plates attached together by a double ring of bolts with pliant nuts. The first plate is metal and releasably engages the lock-pin. The other two plates are made of pliant material, and mate from opposite sides of the spokes to form elongated radial channels. Each channel snugly receives one of the spokes along a substantial length of the channel.
