  • Publication number: 20080173356
Abstract: A mobile dehydration system that is operable to remove water from a supply of fluid, such as hydraulic fluid. The mobile dehydration system includes a fluid pump that draws the supply of hydraulic fluid from a storage tank. The flow of hydraulic fluid passes through a fluid heater that elevates the temperature of the hydraulic fluid. The fluid heater includes at least one flow restricting orifice that reduces the pressure of the flow of hydraulic fluid, thereby elevating the temperature of the hydraulic fluid. The outlet of the fluid heater is connected to a dehydrator that removes water from the flow of hydraulic fluid. A fluid feedback line is connected between the outlet of the fluid heater and the inlet of the fluid pump to return a portion of the hydraulic fluid flow when the flow rate through the dehydrator is less than the flow rate from the fluid pump.

  • Patent number: 6779688
Abstract: A system for collecting undesired concrete discharged from the concrete supply pipe of a mobile concrete pumping vehicle. The system includes a catch basin having an outer wall and a bottom wall that define an open reservoir. The catch basin includes an open top end that receives the second, discharge end of a delivery hose connected to the concrete supply pipe that distributes concrete out through the delivery hose. Preferably, the reservoir is sized to receive a sufficient volume of concrete to prevent the undesired discharge of the concrete during movement of the boom arm of the pumping vehicle. The catch basin includes a plurality of suspension straps that suspend the catch basin around the discharge end of the delivery hose during movement of the boom arm. The suspension straps are each connected to a support bracket mounted to the boom arm of the concrete pumping vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6668497
Abstract: A support structure for supporting a concrete placing boom above a work site. The support structure includes a support mast having a generally smooth outer surface. The support mast receives an adapter that can be removed from one support mast and attached to another. The adapter includes a mast receiving portion having a pressure coupling for holding the adapter in contact with the outer surface of the mast. The adapter further includes a boom attachment portion that allows the pedestal of the concrete placing boom to be securely attached to the adapter. The adapter includes a central guide pin that is received within a guide opening formed in a top plate of the support mast. The interaction between the guide pin and the central opening on the mast aids in guiding the adapter onto the mast.

  • Patent number: 6609898
Abstract: A hydraulic system for a reciprocating piston pump that includes an accumulator for producing a steady-pressure supply of compressible material to a distribution nozzle. The hydraulic system includes an adjustable means for constricting the flow of hydraulic fluid from the accumulator to the hydraulic system. The means for constricting the flow of hydraulic fluid allows the operator to compensate for the type of material being pumped, the vertical distance the material is being pumped, as well as the overall distance the material is being pumped in order to reduce or eliminate line surge. The means for restricting the flow from the accumulator preferably includes a needle valve that allows the operator to select the flow characteristic from the accumulator.

  • Patent number: 6516917
Abstract: An outrigger assembly useful for supporting and stabilizing a mobile work machine, such as a vehicle-mounted telescopic belt conveyor, while the work machine is operating. The outrigger assembly includes a stationary support housing mounted to the vehicle body and a telescoping inner housing that is movable into and out of the support housing. A leg assembly, in turn, telescopes into and out of the inner housing and includes a leg member that is pivotally mounted to a mounting beam of the leg assembly. The leg member includes a support pad that contacts the ground when the leg member is in its ground-engaging position and covers the opening to the inner housing when the leg assembly is in its fully retracted position.

  • Patent number: 6378686
Abstract: A vehicle-mounted conveyor system including an infeed conveyor assembly mounted for powered rotation relative to the vehicle. The conveyor system includes a discharge conveyor assembly pivotally mounted to a main turret, which in turn is mounted to a primary turntable for powered rotation relative to the vehicle. The discharge conveyor assembly includes a telescoping boom and a moving discharge conveyor belt to supply an aggregate material, such as concrete, to a desired point at the work site. An infeed conveyor assembly is rotatably mounted to the main turret by a powered secondary turntable. The powered secondary turntable is mechanically driven by a drive mechanism, such that the infeed conveyor assembly can be rotated relative to the main turret. The secondary turntable and the primary turntable are independently operable and rotate about a common vertical axis, such that the infeed conveyor assembly and the discharge conveyor assembly can be independently rotated relative to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6283269
Abstract: A vehicle-mounted conveyor system including an infeed conveyor assembly having a telescoping feed section including a pivotable outer portion. The feed section of the infeed conveyor assembly includes an outer portion pivotally mounted to an inner portion such that the outer portion can be positioned at an angle relative to the inner portion. The outer portion of the feed section includes a support assembly such that the outer portion can be supported on the ground in a generally horizontal orientation. The outer section includes a collapsible collection bin having a pair of hinged sidewalls and a pair of hinged end walls that can be joined to form the collection bin above the conveyor belt of the infeed conveyor assembly. The combination of the collapsible bin and horizontal outer portion of the feed section of the infeed conveyor assembly allows the conveyor system to be used in directly unloading a supply of aggregate material without the requirement of a separate hopper and additional unloading equipment.
