Abstract: A door assembly for a microwave reactor including a microwave waveguide to direct microwaves from an external microwave source to inside the microwave reactor, and having a waveguide interface for preventing backflow of a process gas into the waveguide; an inlet for entry of matter to be treated in the microwave reactor; a first seal at the periphery of the door assembly to sealably interface with a static front of the microwave reactor; a second seal inserted into a groove on an inside face of the door assembly to sealably interface with an opening of a microwave reactor drum, the groove having a width of about 12.9 inches (32.766 cm) divided by an integer, and the second seal configured to prevent solids and liquids from flowing outside of the reactor drum; and a ring choke to contact a choke arranged on the periphery of the opening of the reactor drum.
Abstract: There is described a microwave pyrolysis process for the depolymerization of plastic for the production of monomers, waxes and heavy oils including the steps of: a) steam purge of the plastic from about 0.5% to about 50% w/w of a catalyst, in a media; b) pyrolysis of the plastic and the catalyst in the media with a microwave (MW) for a time sufficient to allow generation of heat providing a thermal treatment between 300° C. and 650° C. through absorption of microwaves by the catalyst and the media. The catalyst includes a compound having a high dielectric loss at the frequency of the MW to absorb microwaves, transfer heat to the plastic and initiate a pyrolysis reaction.
Abstract: The present document describes a catalyst to initiate microwave pyrolysis of waste, a process for the microwave pyrolysis of waste using the catalyst, as well as a microwave pyrolysis system.

Abstract: The present document describes a method and a system of distributing pyrolysis by-products comprising the step of producing pyrolysis by-products produced by small scale pyrolysis of waste at a production site to a by-product processor. The by-product processor may be the production site itself.
