Patent number: 6819114Abstract: A monitor includes a display panel, a displaying circuit, a connector and a self testing circuit. The self testing circuit has a testing signal generator, a switch circuit and a detecting circuit. When the detecting circuit detects the video signals transmitted from the computer, the detecting circuit switches off the switch circuit so as to avoid the testing signal generated from the testing signal generator being transmitted to the input port of the displaying circuit. When no video signals transmitted from the computer are detected, the detecting circuit switches on the switch circuit to allow the testing signal generated from the testing signal generator to be transmitted to the displaying circuit.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2001Date of Patent: November 16, 2004Assignee: Ben Q CorporationInventors: YA-An Cheng, Hsin-Chung Yang

Patent number: 5603826Abstract: A self-cleaning return pump system for use with a clean-in-place system for cleaning vessels includes a recirculation loop for providing flow communication including a return pump, an eductor, and a separator. The return pump is arranged to discharge a liquid through the eductor into the separator and is supplied with a substantially continuous flow of liquid from the separator. A return line provides flow communication between the vessel to be cleaned and a suction port of the eductor. The separator has a top discharge port and a bottom discharge port. The top discharge port is configured to discharge a liquid or a liquid-air mixture therefrom to the clean-in-place system. The return pump causes liquid flowing through the recirculation loop at the eductor to have sufficient dynamic head to draw liquid or a mixture of liquid and air from the vessel through the return line, into the eductor. The liquid or liquid air mixture is discharged into the separator.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1996Date of Patent: February 18, 1997Assignee: V Q CorporationInventor: Elmer S. Welch

Patent number: 5096396Abstract: Improvements are disclosed in a rotary, lobar, positive-displacement pump and in a rotary, centrifugal pump, whereby all product-contacting areas of the pumps can be effectively cleaned without disassembly, i.e., cleaned in place. Non-rotating seals seal the impellers and isolate the pump shafts from the product zone. Each seal has an elastomeric member molded integrally thereto. The seal is biased by the elastomeric member so as to be slidably pressed against an impeller. In the lobar pump, certain passageways can be selectively closed and opened, so as to adapt the pump for being used to pump a pumpable material when closed and for being cleaned by a cleaning solution flowing therethrough when opened. Valves may be alternatively provided for analogous purposes.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1991Date of Patent: March 17, 1992Assignee: V. Q. CorporationInventor: Elmer S. Welch

Patent number: 4412421Abstract: There is disclosed the utilization of a fluidized bed as a combustion chamber for the combustion in an external combustion engine of the recyclable fuels magnesium, aluminum, and their hydrides and/or alloys. The combustion products serve in whole or in part as the inert media for the bed.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1981Date of Patent: November 1, 1983Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: E. Patent number: 4388848Abstract: A cutter ring for use in trimming printed circuit board leads and a method of forming the ring is the subject of this invention. The cutter member is of annular configuration and is provided with a central hub portion surrounding an aperture. The cutter member itself is formed from a hardened sintered carbide which can only be shaped through a prolonged grinding operation. A molded cap is formed over the hub portion to present a surface which is to be received within a tool holder such as an arbor. The molded cap is characterized by being formed from a relatively soft workable material which can be shaped through a machining operation.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1981Date of Patent: June 21, 1983Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: Eugene V. Patent number: 4371788Abstract: A device for extracting both kinetic and potential energy from the motion beneath waves over a considerable depth comprising a power member or sail guided to reciprocate with the movement of the water. The power sail is connected to and operates a power device such as an electric generator or pump. A second member, or sail, is located in geometric position relative to the power sail to reflect energy back to the power sail. Sensors, servo systems, and computers may be used to optimize power output. Multiple units can be arranged in "farms" to furnish megawatts of power.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 1980Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: E. Quimby Smith, Jr.

Patent number: 4248048Abstract: A system of operating an engine on a recyclable, relatively non-polluting fuel. The fuel may include any one or more of the following: magnesium (Mg), aluminum (Al), magnesium plus aluminum, magnesium-aluminum alloy, magnesium hydride (MgH.sub.2) aluminum hydride (AlH.sub.3) and magnesium aluminum hydride (Mg(AlH.sub.4).sub.2). The fuel when burned produces oxides and hydroxides of magnesium and/or aluminum. The oxides and hydroxides can be reduced to magnesium and/or aluminum and/or their hydrides and reformed for reuse in the engine. The system is intended for use not only in automotive engines but also stationary power plants including refrigeration.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1978Date of Patent: February 3, 1981Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: E. Quimby Smith, Jr.

Patent number: 4170738Abstract: A device for extracting both kinetic and potential energy from the motion of the water beneath waves over a considerable depth comprising a member or sail guided to reciprocate with the movement of the water. The sail is connected to and operates a power device such, for example, as an electric generator or a pump. Multiple units can be arranged in "farms" to furnish megawatts of power.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1977Date of Patent: October 9, 1979Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: E. Quimby Smith

Patent number: 4132137Abstract: An apparatus for trimming electrical component leads depending from a circuit board includes a plurality of cutters mounted on and spaced along a cutter mounting member supported on a frame supporting a drive motor operatively connected to the cutters for rotating same to trim electrical component leads depending from a circuit board as same is moved along a path structure supported by the frame and above the cutters. The drive motor and cutters are arranged in a pattern so that lead trimming occurs in a minimum area, length, or distance along the path 1. The cutters are adjustable vertically so that the cutters trim the leads at a predetermined spacing from a lower surface of the circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1977Date of Patent: January 2, 1979Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: Eugene V. Patent number: 4129003Abstract: A system of operating an engine on a recyclable, relatively non-polluting fuel. The fuel is preferably a magnesium-aluminum alloy which when burned produces oxides of magnesium and aluminum. The oxides can be reduced to magnesium and aluminum and alloyed for reuse in the engine. The system is intended for use not only in automotive engines but also stationary power plants including refrigeration.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1976Date of Patent: December 12, 1978Assignee: Q CorporationInventor: E.
