Abstract: A base for a heat-dissipating fan motor includes a plate member made of metal, a coupling barrel made of plastic, and an outer case made of plastic. The plate member is formed with at least one positioning leg and at least one air inlet hole. The plate member has a motor-confronting side, and the positioning leg extends inclinedly and protrudes from the motor-confronting side. The coupling barrel is adapted for coupling with the heat-dissipating fan motor, and has a closed-barrel end that has the positioning leg embedded therein, and an open-barrel end opposite to the closed barrel end. The outer case is connected to the plate member, cooperates with the coupling barrel to form a motor-receiving space, and is formed with an air outlet hole.
Abstract: A method for making a stator includes: (a) stacking steel sheets to form a stator core, the stator core including ribs and blocking portions; (b) preparing a mold including first and second mold parts that respectively have inner wall surfaces defining a mold cavity, the inner wall surface of each of the first and second mold parts having press blades protruding into the mold cavity; (c) positioning the stator core in the mold cavity by placing top and bottom surfaces of each of the ribs respectively in abutment with the press blades of the first and second mold parts; and (d) introducing a plastic material into the mold cavity to form a plastic insulating layer over the stator core.

Abstract: A stator core includes a laminated core member and a single-piece insulating layer. The laminated core member includes: a central ring portion defining an axis, and having first top and first bottom sides disposed opposite to each other, and an outer periphery extending from the first top side to the first bottom side; and at least two coil mounting portions extending radially and outwardly from the central ring portion, and angularly spaced apart relative to the axis. Each of the coil mounting portions has a second top side extending contiguously from the first top side, a second bottom side extending contiguously from the first bottom side, and a pair of coil winding surfaces extending from the second top side to the second bottom side. The insulating layer covers the top and bottom sides, the coil winding surfaces, and segments of the outer periphery between the coil mounting portions.
