The paternoster conveyor is on one side associated with at least one transporter; and on an opposite side associated with at least a plurality of further transporters that comprise a plurality of transport boxes. The plurality of transport boxes are configured to receive one or more than one product carried by the carrier. The paternoster conveyor is configured to at least one of: selectively place one or more than one product in a pre-selected transport box of the plurality of transport boxes; and selectively pick up and carry a pre-selected transport box comprising one or more than one product previously received therein. A method of handling products in such an order picking system.

Abstract: The invention relates to a palletizing system, comprising: a frame extending in an upright direction, an input configured to feed products, a forming device configured to form a layer of products, a palletizing device configured to place the layer of products onto a pallet, and a lift, configured to transport the layer of products along the upright extending frame from a level of the forming device to a level of the palletizing device, wherein the forming device and the palletizing device are arranged one directly above the other. It further relates to a method of palletizing, comprising the steps of feeding products to a forming device arranged on a first level; forming a layer of products by the forming device; transporting the layer of products to a second level; placing the layer of products onto a pallet by a palletizing device that is arranged at said second level; wherein the forming device and the palletizing device are arranged one directly above the other.

A method includes: providing at least one object; measuring a dimension of the object and/or measuring a spacing between successive objects; and rotating at least one object around an upright axis line and/or adjusting a spacing between successive objects. Measuring the dimension includes measuring an outer dimension of a side surface of the object. Rotating the at least one object around the upright axis line includes aligning the side surface in line with a transport direction of said object.
