    Abstract: A three dimensional scanning apparatus is used to detect a contour of an object, and includes an illumination light source, a first elliptic opening portion, a reference pattern generator, a second elliptic opening portion and an optical receiver. The illumination light source emits an illumination beam. The reference pattern generator provides a reference pattern by projection of the illumination beam, and transmits the reference pattern toward the object via the first elliptic opening portion. The optical receiver receives a detection pattern reflected from the object via the second elliptic opening portion, so as to analyze a difference between the reference pattern and the detection pattern for acquiring the contour.

The first time interval and the second time interval overlap in an overlapping time interval. The first light emitter and the second light emitter synchronously emit the first light and the second light in the overlapping time interval to form a combined light beam in the light guide. Next, a binary image is generated by performing image binarization on the noise-reduced ultrasound image based on a first threshold value, wherein the binary image contains information associated with the body of high-echo foreground images in the ultrasound image. An output image is generated by performing foreground expansion on the binary image based on the pixel value of the ultrasound image and a second threshold value smaller than the first threshold value, wherein the output image contains information associated with not only the body but also the outline of high-echo foreground images in the ultrasound image. An improved ultrasound image is generated by performing a post-processing on the ultrasound image according to information of foreground and non-foreground region in the output image.

The invention first analyzes the degree of overlap area between two black-and-white images and determines the Doppler signal error of two corresponding color images once the overlap area is large enough. A plurality of black-and-white characteristic images and color characteristic images are then determined from the captured black-and-white images and color images and used for generating a black-and-white panoramic image and a color panoramic image respectively using an image stitching algorithm. The color panoramic image is then overlaid with the black-and-white panoramic image to form an output panoramic image.
