Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cutting tool system comprising a tool holder and a cutting tool. The tool holder includes a base for mounting onto a rotary drum or disc and a body for removably coupling to the cutting tool. The cutting tool is for size-reducing a material and has a first side and a second side. The cutting tool includes a plurality of cutting edges that are selectively moveable into and out of a cutting path of the rotary drum or disc. The first and second sides each have at least one cutting edge, such that each of the first and second sides are configured to be a leading side of the cutting tool during use. This allows the cutting tool to be rotated and/or reversed, such that a single cutting tool provides several cutting edges and increases the wear or erosion life thereof.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to forestry mulching or mowing heads with an upper frame and a lower frame having a rotatable cutting drum. The lower frame is pivotably mounted to the upper frame via a tilting mechanism. The tilting mechanism can include an actuator configured to pivot or tilt the lower frame relative to the upper frame. The tilting mechanism can include a bracket and a link that provides at least five independent degrees of freedom to pivot or rotate the lower frame relative to the upper frame. The tilting mechanism can provide a tilt capability of up to 180° while maintaining a pivot distance to cutting diameter ratio of less than 1 (the pivot distance being a distance between the frame pivot point and a rotational axis of the cutting drum and the cutting diameter being a diameter between cutting edges of the cutting tools on the cutting drum).
Abstract: A forestry device, for example, a bunching and felling head configured to group trees, includes a support frame and an accumulation area located proximate to the support frame. The device includes at least a first arm rotatable relative to the support frame, to gather trees, and at least one accumulating arm rotatable relative to the support frame, to secure one or more gathered trees in the accumulation area and to retract from the accumulation area to allow a newly gathered tree to be added in the accumulation area. The one or more accumulating arm(s) include(s) an inner arm pivotable relative to the support frame and an outer arm pivotable relative to the inner arm. The outer arm has at least one articulation dividing the outer arm into at least a proximate member and a distal member.

Abstract: A cable anchor assembly is disclosed as well as a method of using the assembly for anchoring plastic coated rope in oil well drilling derricks and the like for alternatively carrying a load on the rope and also for allowing the rope to be selectively slipped or fed through the cable anchor assembly for replacement thereof, the assembly including a snubbing drum having a circumferentially formed groove with an included angle in the range of about 130 degrees to about 165 degrees, more preferably in the range of about 150 to about 160 degrees and most preferably about 160 degrees, the groove also being formed with preferably at least two, more preferably at least three to four turns, and most preferably about three turns for engagement with the rope about the drum in order to normally support a substantial portion or more preferably the entire rope load while still permitting the rope to be selectively slipped or fed through the assembly, the clamp means including a grooved insert for engaging and clamping the
