  • Patent number: 11145193
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for a priori or real-time intersection trajectory determination of a vehicle, and corresponding messaging of the trajectory determination. Trajectory determination may be based on vehicle static characteristics, dynamic characteristics, and/or intersection geometry. Trajectory messages, which can be communicated using CV2X, may not only indicate the trajectory, but may (optionally) indicate which intersection ingress and egress points the vehicle will block over the course of the traversal of the vehicle along the trajectory.

  • Patent number: 10440772
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses that use various connection reconfiguration signaling schemes to enable fast user equipment reconfiguration in wireless networks. A network can reduce reconfiguration signaling traffic or overhead by reducing the amount of configuration data sent to each user equipment (UE) in a reconfiguration message. In some examples, when a UE first enters a network area, the network may provide the UE with a list of commonly used baseline configurations. Each baseline configuration may be identified by an index and a value tag. Subsequently, the network may transmit a reconfiguration message including, for example, only the index and value tag to indicate the desired configuration.

  • Patent number: 10237103
Abstract: Aspects provide for selecting a precoder mode for a transmission, changing a cyclic prefix (CP) length based on the selected precoder mode, and transmitting a signal that includes the changed CP length. Changing the CP length may involve using the selected precoder mode to lookup a value by which to change a nominal CP length. After changing the CP length, information indicating the changed CP length may be transmitted to a receiver of the signal. Precoder mode selection may be based on feedback information that indicates whether a receiver requests a change to the CP length. Precoder mode selection may be based on a received reference signal that indicates a condition of a communication channel. The reference signal may be used to select the precoder mode that results in the smallest relative delay spread, the largest relative delay spread compression, the largest relative beamforming gain, and/or the largest relative throughout.

  • Patent number: 9864647
Abstract: A method and system for adjusting bandwidth within a portable computing device based on danger signals monitored from one on more elements of the portable computing device are disclosed. A danger level of an unacceptable deadline miss (“UDM”) element of the portable computing device may be determined with a danger level sensor within the UDM element. Next, a quality of service (“QoS”) controller may adjust a magnitude for one or more danger levels received based on the UDM element type that generated the danger level and based on a potential fault condition type associated with the particular danger level. The danger levels received from one UDM element may be mapped to at least one of another UDM element and a non-UDM element. A quality of service policy for each UDM element and non-UDM element may be mapped in accordance with the danger levels.

  • Patent number: 9336519
Abstract: A method for determining an appropriate redemption presentation for a virtual token associated with a stored value account is disclosed. The method may include receiving a request for presenting a redemption presentation of a virtual token and obtaining a merchant identifier associated with the request. The method may further include determining if the request is for one of an on-line transaction and a transaction with a point-of-sale terminal, and if the request is for a transaction with a point-of-sale terminal, then searching a database using the merchant identifier to find one or more redemption presentations of virtual token preferred by a merchant. Subsequently, the one or more redemption presentations of the virtual token may be transmitted over a computer network to a client device.

  • Patent number: 8849884
Abstract: Techniques for efficiently performing full and scaled transforms on data received via full and scaled interfaces, respectively, are described. A full transform is a transform that implements the complete mathematical description of the transform. A full transform operates on or provides full transform coefficients. A scaled transform is a transform that operates on or provides scaled transform coefficients, which are scaled versions of the full transform coefficients. The scaled transform may have lower computational complexity whereas the full transform may be simpler to use by applications. The full and scaled transforms may be for a 2D IDCT, which may be implemented in a separable manner with 1D IDCTs. The full and scaled transforms may also be for a 2D DCT, which may be implemented in a separable manner with 1D DCTs. The 1D IDCTs and 1D DCTs may be implemented in a computationally efficient manner.

  • Publication number: 20110280316
Abstract: An asymmetric frame of a coded video bitstream may include a full resolution picture of a left view and a reduced resolution picture of a right view, where the left and right views form a stereo view pair for three-dimensional video playback. In one example, an apparatus includes a video encoder configured to receive a first picture of a first view of a scene having a first resolution, receive a second picture of a second view of the scene having a reduced resolution relative to the first resolution, form an asymmetric frame comprising the first picture and the second picture, and encode the asymmetric frame. In this manner, decoders of varying capabilities may receive the same bitstream, and the bitstream may consume less bandwidth than one or more bitstreams having full resolution pictures of a stereo view pair. The bitstream may have better quality than a bitstream having subsampled pictures.

  • Publication number: 20100146559
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitated generating a broadcast schedule of content based on user feedback. Users can provide feedback such as ratings, interest (e.g., like or dislike), comments, reviews, critiques and so on regarding content available on a media distribution system. The feedback can be utilized to determine a schedule or order of content that is delivered via a broadcast mechanism. In addition, users can supply contemporaneous feedback during broadcast.
