Abstract: Example methods, apparatuses, or articles of manufacture are disclosed herein that may be utilized, in whole or in part, to facilitate or support one or more operations or techniques for creating geofence assistance information, such as for use in or with a mobile communication device. Briefly, in accordance with at least one implementation, a method may include determining a geofence boundary; and identifying transmission cells forming a loop of contiguous cell coverage areas approximating the geofence boundary. In some instances, a loop of contiguous cell coverage areas approximating a geofence boundary may comprise a loop of contiguous cell coverage areas approximating a perimeter of the geofence boundary, for example.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to selectively enable and disable one or more modules in a mobile communication device based on a variation in received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values to reduce power consumption while the mobile device is relatively stationary.
Abstract: Dynamic channel reuse in multi-access communication systems. A first station in a communication network may receive a transmission over a communication medium. The first station may generate a reuse determination based on information from the received transmission. The reuse determination may be usable with at least one other reuse determination to coordinate reuse of the communication medium.

Abstract: A wireless network having a plurality of access points that automatically share positional information with each other without using a central server is disclosed. Each access point includes processor to generate location information associated with the respective access point, a location table having a plurality of entries each for storing location information associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of access points, and a transmitter to automatically broadcast all location information stored in the location table to other visible access points in response to an update in one or more of the entries.
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a wireless network node having position determination capabilities. The position of a node is determined using range measurements to other network nodes having known locations. Probability density functions modeling uncertainty factors are incorporated in the estimation algorithms to account for the dynamic nature of wireless network, including the relative motion of a node in the network. These probabilistic estimation techniques provide a solution in the form of an expectation value for the position of the network node and a variance that can be assessed to determine the validity of the position determination.
