  • Patent number: 9998917
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a network entity are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain identification information for a device and may assist in establishing credentials by which the device accesses a wireless network, e.g., a cellular network. The UE may establish a connection with the wireless network using its own credentials. A device subscription administration server, which may be an entity within the wireless network core, may authenticate the device based on the identification information, which may include registering the device to access the wireless network, e.g., using different credentials than those of the UE, by associating the device identification information with the credentials of the UE. Once registered, the device may communicate with the wireless network. The device subscription administration server may then establish access parameters and communicate them to the UE, which may transmit them to the device over communication link.

  • Patent number: 9997617
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed in the detailed description include metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) isolation schemes with continuous active areas separated by dummy gates. A MOS device includes an active area formed from a material with a work function that is described as either an n-metal or a p-metal. Active components are formed on this active area using materials having a similar work function. Isolation is effectuated by positioning a dummy gate between the active components. The dummy gate is made from a material having an opposite work function relative to the material of the active area. For example, if the active area was a p-metal material, the dummy gate would be made from an n-metal, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 9998379
Abstract: Various aspects of the invention provide for determining data rate for a reverse link communication by determining packets of data for transmission for a number of communication services, determining a data rate for transmission of the packets of data based on an arrangement of the packets of data in a queue allowing for meeting the transmission deadline for each of the packets of data. The base station determines whether available resources allow for allocation at the base station for transmission from the mobile station at the determined data rate and duration. The mobile station drops at least a packet of data of the packets of data in the queue to determine a new queue of packets of data. The new queue of the packets of data is used to determine a new data rate for communication on the reverse link.

  • Patent number: 9999049
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to wireless communications. Protocol data units (PDUs) can be received at a network layer from one or more transmitting nodes using a link associated with each respective transmitting node. One or more missing PDUs can be detected based, at least in part, on sequence numbers of the received PDUs. A timer can be started based on the detection of the one or more missing PDUs. In response to expiration of the timer, and without receiving the one or more missing PDUs before the expiration of the timer, a lower network layer can be notified that the one or more missing PDUs are received to prevent attempted transmitting/retransmitting or other processing of the one or more missing PDUs.
