Patent number: 12127238Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a first wireless device such as a UE or base station to prioritize beams which are simultaneously received from or transmitted to cells of different numerologies or which are asynchronous to each other. The device determines an overlap in time between a first signal from a first cell and a second signal from a second cell, where the second cell includes at least one of a different numerology than the first cell or an asynchronous timing relative to the first cell. The device applies a beam prioritization rule for selecting a beam associated with the first signal or the second signal carrying information in separate beams. The device transmits information to or receives information from a second wireless device based on the selected beam. Thus, simultaneous beam conflict resolution may be improved for cells having different numerologies or asynchronous timing.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2020Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Yan Zhou, Tao Luo, Olufunmilola Omolade Awoniyi-Oteri, Hung Dinh Ly, Wooseok Nam

Patent number: 12126540Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which UEs may communicate with satellites and base stations or gateways in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). Due to the large distances between transmitting devices and receiving devices in a NTN, timing adjustments to account for propagation delay communications links via a satellite may include a propagation delay between a UE and a satellite, a propagation delay between a base station and a satellite, as well as a variation in the propagation delays due to movement of the satellite. In accordance with various techniques discussed herein, a UE may account for variation in propagation delay, in addition to determined propagation delay, when determining an uplink timing for uplink communications via a satellite.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2023Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Bharat Shrestha, Xiao Feng Wang, Umesh Phuyal, Alberto Rico Alvarino, Liangping Ma

Patent number: 12126416Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for radio frequency (RF) sensing in wireless communication systems. In some implementations, a transmitter device transmits sounding sequences configured for channel estimation over a wireless channel to a receiver device. The transmitter device also transmits or receives non-sounding frames associated with a channel report of the receiver device. The transmitter device transmits a frame soliciting the channel report from the receiver device. The transmitter device receives the channel report, which may include channel state information (CSI) of the wireless channel responsive to at least the sounding sequences. Some types of channel reports may take longer to generate than other types of channel reports. Transmitting or receiving the non-sounding frames during the time period may prevent other devices from accessing the wireless channel when the receiver device needs additional time to generate a certain type of channel report.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2023Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Simone Merlin, Alireza Raissinia, Bin Tian, Xiaoxin Zhang, Solomon Trainin, Assaf Yaakov Kasher, Manish Madan, John Greszczuk

Patent number: 12127234Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may sense and report resource availability using a reporting pattern to manage a payload size of a reporting message. A sensing pattern may indicate a pattern of resources of a sidelink channel that is being reported in the reporting message (e.g., and one or more sidelink channel resources not being reported), and a resolution of resource availability statuses reported for a first subset of resources of a sidelink channel. A base station or another UE may indicate which reporting pattern (e.g., from a set of configured patterns) that a UE is to use for sensing and generating the sensing report. The UE may autonomously select the reporting pattern, and may transmit an indication of the pattern to the receiving UE.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2021Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ahmed Elshafie, Tugcan Aklas, Seyedkianoush Hosseini
