Patent number: 12335013Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure address beam management enhancement with the assistance of a cooperative relay UE over a sidelink (SL) channel. A UE may include a memory and a processor. The processor may use machine learning and channel condition measurements to predict an upcoming Uu link beam failure (BF). Based on the prediction, the processor may request SL data resources from a base station, wherein the processor may receive an allocated SL channel and a relay UE. When the Uu link fails, the processor can transmit a beam failure recovery (BFR) signal to the base station using the relay UE over the SL channel. The present disclosure overcomes the deficiencies of conventional BFR processes in which the BF forces the UE to perform a contentious RACH procedure, causing time delays and power consumption.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2022Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Shanyu Zhou, Junyi Li, Jelena Damnjanovic

Patent number: 12335988Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a resource for measuring cross link interference (CLI). The UE may determine that the resource overlaps with (e.g., at least partially overlaps) one or more symbols or a transmission occasion. The UE may determine, according to what the resource overlaps with, whether to measure CLI over the resource. For example, if one or more of the symbols is uplink or if the resource verlaps a transmission occasion, the UE may not measure CLI. If one or more of the symbols are downlink, the UE may measure CLI. If one or more of the symbols is flexible or has an unknown type, the UE may determine whether to measure CLI based on a type of the control signaling.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2020Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ruifeng Ma, Huilin Xu

Patent number: 12335100Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for identifying edge application servers (EASs) to support one or more services of an application client (AC) running on a user equipment (UE). An AC of a UE may send a request for an edge enabler client (EEC) of the UE to identify one or more EASs for one or more services of the AC. The EEC may receive the request and may perform an EAS discovery procedure to identify the one or more EASs. The EEC may then send a response to the AC including identifiers of the one or more EASs (e.g., if the EAS discovery procedure indicated that these EASs are available). Once the AC receives the response, the AC may connect to each EAS of the EASs indicated by the EEC to support a corresponding service of the AC.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2022Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Sunghoon Kim, Nishant Gupta, Dario Serafino Tonesi, Alan Soloway, Tom Chin, Ajith Tom Payyappilly

Patent number: 12335875Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network entity within a first coverage area associated with a first wireless cell. The UE may receive a system information (SI) update indication that indicates a modification of the first coverage area to a second coverage area. The SI update indication may also include one or more thresholds that the UE may use to determine whether the UE is to receive an updated SI message associated with the modification of the first coverage area to the second coverage area, or whether the UE is to skip receiving the updated SI message associated with the modification of the first coverage area to the second coverage area. The UE then determines whether to receive the updated SI message based on the one or more thresholds.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2022Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Navid Abedini, Naeem Akl, Tao Luo

Patent number: 12335926Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. When operating in a high-pathloss mode, wireless devices in a network may transmit or receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a transmission time interval (TTI) for a physical shared channel (such as a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)). A wireless device may determine one or more intervals that correspond to a periodic signal that collides with portions of the TTI. Based on the identified intervals, the wireless device may communicate over the physical shared channel during the TTI. In such cases, the TTI may overlap in time with the one or more intervals to allow communication of the periodic signal during the portions of the TTI. For instance, a periodic signal may be transmitted or received during each of the one or more intervals.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2020Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Junyi Li, Juergen Cezanne, Vasanthan Raghavan

Patent number: 12335961Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for identifying resources in which to transmit feedback information in a slot in an absence of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) in the slot. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a symbol in which to transmit feedback information in a slot in an absence of DMRSs in the slot based on a reference symbol. The reference symbol may be a symbol in the slot previously configured to include DMRSs, or a symbol in a previous slot configured to include DMRSs, or a first symbol in the slot, or a first symbol of a set of symbols in the slot allocated for an uplink data transmission in the slot. A relation between the symbol in which to transmit the feedback information in the slot and the reference symbol may be defined at the UE.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2021Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Gokul Sridharan, Mahmoud Taherzadeh Boroujeni, Hung Dinh Ly, Peter Gaal

Patent number: 12336000Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to uplink (UL) transmissions with CP extensions. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), one or more grants for a plurality of uplink transmissions in a shared radio frequency band. The UE determines a cyclic prefix (CP) extension length for a first uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink transmissions such that a first gap duration between a second uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink transmissions and the first uplink transmission satisfies a first time threshold for transmitting the first uplink transmission in the shared radio frequency band without a listen-before-talk (LBT), the second uplink transmission preceding the first uplink transmission. The UE transmits, to the BS in the shared radio frequency band, one or more uplink transmissions of the plurality of uplink transmissions, where the first uplink transmission with the first CP extension is transmitted without performing the LBT.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2020Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Changlong Xu, Jing Sun, Xiaoxia Zhang
